My husband and I rested in the village of Kumkey in September 2013. The resort is located in the east of Turkey, three kilometers from Side. You can get to which you can in 30 minutes walk. Or local transport that stayed near our hotel. Antalya Airport is 40-50 minutes away. Distance about 70 km. On the seaside, there are hotels in different categories, but the beaches and the sea are equally beautiful everywhere.
Kumki, like neighboring villages, are famous for wide sandy beaches, with a gentle entrance to the sea. Many families with children choose this particular resort thanks to these peculiarities. Kids comfortably splashing in water. No one will be lit, the bottom is perfectly smooth.
Kumki is not a youth resort. Nightlife is boring, there are no large discos, shows and all entertainment, to which we are accustomed. But if there is a desire to take off, you can take a taxi and go to Side.
In the village there are a lot of shops, shops and just layouts with souvenirs. The bazaar was near our hotel - CESARS 5 *. Two minutes later there is a shopping center with the same name "Kumki", but prices there are slightly higher than in small stores. Near the shopping center "Kumki" there is a fountain. But sit there will not work - very hot.
Many tourists prefer to shop in Manavgate. There and the prices are lower, and the choice is more. But if you do not plan anything global to acquire, you can bargain in Kumkee. Since there is nothing to look except shops in Manavgat.
In local cafes you can smoke hookah, drink local Turkish coffee or something stronger. The interior is not highlighted by special sophistication, but are popular with tourists. At night, the shortcomings hide the backlight and loud music. Be sure to meet the owners. They are trying in every way to show interest, make friends. Maybe this hospitality or the usual desire to take visitors.
There are hammam. But, passing by the building, we did not notice any movement. Maybe it does not work. Or simply not popular, as each hotel has its own spa.
One of the central streets of Kumkey decorates the monument to the Turkish artist of folk songs. He has a Baglam in his hands.
On the coast of Kumkey there are water entertainment centers. For an acceptable price, you can fly with a parachute, swim on the yacht, water bikes, etc. We need to negotiate about the price, the more you buy - the cheaper.
In general, Kumki is suitable for recreation families with children and lovers of a relaxing holiday. For entertainment you need to go to Side.
