In Stockholm we arrived at the ferry early November morning. The port was lively and cold, and my husband and I immediately noted that this city is a real northern capital. Cold, beautiful and expensive.
The first thing we saw on arrival is the City Town Hall Building and the Royal Palace. Of course, they saw the shift of Karaula - this tour is required to visit by all tourists. Beautiful and solemnly. The Town Hall is a very interesting place, inside everything is grand and everywhere, some luxurious restraint reigns. The embankment is a great place for walks at any time of the day.
Most of all I enjoyed in the house-museum of the Swedish sculptor Karl Milles. Millesgore is located in a quiet, beautiful place, there are pretty wealthy Swedes. A low manor, a picturesque cypress garden, standing in the artistic disorder of sculptures, a view of Lake Melarn and the city port - all this was a pleasant atmosphere of involvement in the beautiful.
Excursion to Vasu in principle liked. The ship is decent sizes, greatly decorated, it is a pity that he can't boast anything more than anything else - because of the wrong balancing, the ship sank into his first swim, fluttering from the coast. But we must pay tribute to employees of the museum - the exposition is ideal. How filed, as decorated! Each match of the sailor, any vintage shoe or smoking pipe is highlighted with love and skill, because of what you wander around the exhibition for a long time and trying to capture every item - everything is so beautiful.
We went to Uppsalu, University. Uppsala is the oldest city in Sweden, very pleasant, beautiful and deserted. University inside - as a museum, go with an open mouth and just think that studying in such an environment is probably promoted by the success and purposeful comprehension of wisdom. The old town with faded spiers is very romantic.
What I want to note: Stockholm is a multinational and tolerant city, so you can see anyone on his streets. This is the city of opportunities, open doors and creativity, maybe therefore there are so many talented people.
I really liked the city. Facades of houses, as if drawn by a talented child, narrow stone streets, screw ladies, vintage bridge and rebellious waters of Lake Melarien, brightly lit windows of restaurants and cafes, expensive smells, beautiful, stylish and amazingly different people ... and shop windows, decorated in The eve of Christmas, deserve a separate photo.
I would like to visit and Unibachen, because Lindgren's story is an important part of my childhood, and Skanen, and the ancient parking of the Vikings - a tag. But all this is somehow another time, but what he will, I do not doubt, because in Stockholm it is impossible not to fall in love. This cold beauty combined with the national hospitality of the Swedes and the rich historical past is to contemplate it more than once.
