The capital of wine and surfing is about him, about the port! The city spread over the majestic clutches, under which the charming Riviera gives rest and those who love just be on the golden sand, and those who crave to pacify the wave. There are always beautiful weather here, here people smile to each other under the influence of the Summer Sun, not the red wine, the business cards of the city - "Porto" :)
We walk here, I already knew that the most delicious lunch is waiting for me in the old restaurant Majestik (Majestic), located on Santa Catarina). This is not just a restaurant - this is the keeper of the history of local wine and the favorite cafe of aristocrats, poets, artists and writers of the beginning of the twentieth century.
It has long been served dishes of the peoples of the world, but I really wanted to try the glorious meal of Portuguese sailors from shrimps, crabs, mussels, sardines baked under the thick layer of vegetables - bakalhoyada.
After a satisfying dinner, I walked around the narrow streets of an old city and there was no edge of surprise: how to hold on these rocks all the houses and a bigger house? :) But soon I got used and stopped fearful that somehow will break :)
There are a lot of conductors and guides. While you will walk around the city, you need to be prepared that young people will offer their services, and the locals are older. But there is nothing galloping that you will refuse them - the vowel at it to smile! :) I met in Porto whole groups of tourists loudly twisted in Russian, muffled in German, enthusiastically silent in Vietnamese :)
Golden sands and warm sea will sit here with holidaymakers from all over the globe. In the midst of summer holidays on the beach, it is necessary to come early to take place, because Porto is a favorite place of recreation and family, and the elderly couples, and young people trying to "settle the wave". This is the best place to be surfing and for beginners (like me), and for more experienced athletes.
At the end of the day, you can admire old houses on Avenida-Dom-Ayados Street in the center of Porto, which is located on the right bank of the Douro River at a distance of a few kilometers from its compound with the Atlantic Ocean. Noisy port market - a special place! From here I went out of the purchases, half of which I never come in handy! But sellers are so annoying that I immediately remembered Turkey :)
For two weeks of holiday held in the port, I managed to visit not only the beach, shops, restaurants, and well-known sights: Cathedral CE, Clerygush Tower - 240 meters of height and Baroque style made an unforgettable impression! And also the wine cellar ... I was lucky to get to the holiday of young wine, and I watched the dancing in a huge barrel filled with grapes - so squeezed the juice for wine in the old days!
And, of course, local conductors showed me how to go to the cafe from the observation area, from where you can see the coast of the fabulous night kingdom of wine and surfing :)
