I have been managing the Arab countries for a long time. Their culture, fectures of life and worldview are very attractive. In 2011 and 2012, we met Israel and the UAE. And the 2013 year discovered a wonderful Jordan for us. What to look at this wonderful land, you ask? Of course, the ancient capital of the Nabatean Kingdom - Peter.
We got here for 3 hours by bus from Aqaba. Immediately they took an excursion, because without accompanying here anywhere - you can get safely in the city. However, Peter is already difficult to call the city, because it remains very little from him: only empty tombs and narrow passages. One of these passes (in the local language it sounds like "Sik") led us, perhaps, in the most beautiful place that can be captured on this earth.
This place is called Halna - one of the most remarkable creations of human hands. They say this is the tomb of one of the local rulers, but this is only an assumption, since this masterpiece is about two thousand years. Surprisingly, as a person could create such a beauty that does not own modern technologies without having modern tools at hand. Sometimes it is even the question arises: and maybe the past generation had much more knowledge and skills in architectural skills?
This place is very popular not only by the beauty of the landscape, many kinomans choose Peter to feel like a hero of the film "Indiana Jones". But such a passion is not cheap. By the way, if you want to visit only this place, this is not necessarily purposefully going to rest in Jordan. The excursion can also be ordered, staying on vacation in Israel or Egypt (on the Sinai Peninsula).
The walk took about 3 hours. It's good that we drove easy comfortable shoes. I liked the excursion, the guide was excellent, the story turned out to be very informative, though most of the stated material was reduced to one phrase: "Look to the right / left. Here are the ancient burial ..."
When arriving at the hotel after such walks, I don't want to do absolutely. And on vacation especially from you do not require anything. Therefore, we, forgetting about dinner, fell in bed and until the next day we slept as killed.
