I believe that every Russian must be attended by Petrozavodsk. My great-grandmother lived in this wonderful city and I am grateful to my parents for sending me to her every summer. As soon as you leave the train and make the first breath, you begin to understand what is fresh air. I live in Moscow so so far as a child I am glad to go to some kind of demeans, away from the capital. No, I do not hint at the fact that Petrozavodsk is a Germaman. Absolutely the opposite. Distance from both capitals, that from Moscow, that from Peter, there is only good in this city. There are even people here, there is no arrogance, pathos, always quietly and calmly. Such a feeling that the city is stuck in the Soviet Union. For me personally, this is a big plus. In the city of truly cozy. Any cafes and restaurants are decorated in Karelian-Finnish style, their northern cuisine is simply divine. When entering the average Karelian restaurant, it seems that I would have come to visit the old friend, so here is cozy and homely. The average account in restaurants is slightly cheaper than in the capitals, but only here you can try the venison or poles under the sauce of blueberries. In any other city of Russia you will not find such a kitchen. The embankment of Onega lake is decorated in the same northern style, throughout the embankment there are avant-garde monuments from the twin countries (the open-air museum).
There is a fairly rich choice of excursions from the city - on Kivach's waterfalls, white bridges, the Girls waterfall, etc., in the sanatorium, maritarian waters, and finally, the most important excursion is a sea walk to Kizhi Island. According to the legend, the wooden Kizhi graveyard (2 churches and the bell tower) is built without a single nail. But actually it is not. In all these buildings there are nails.
