In 1950, the city of Jaffa and Tell-Aviv were combined with each other. According to ancient Greek mythology, it was on the territory held by the modern city of Jaffa, there was a cliff, to which Andromeda was chained, and where the brave Perseus saved her. On the same Rock of the Apostle Peter visited the vision. The first mention of the city of Jaffa is found in the historical chronicles of the XV century to our era. For such a long period, the city was many times destroyed, and then restored. Such events took place in the first century of our era during the Jewish war, then in the VII century, further - in the XIII century the city completely destroyed the crusaders. After that, in a long 400 years, the city completely ceased to exist.

To date, the historic part of the city is a tourist center with numerous restaurants, art galleries, the most famous in Israel with a flea market "Schuk Ha-Pishpishet". The most interesting in the city are: Underground Archaeological Museum (Kondimim Square), Gallery of Forkash with a collection of Israel's historical posters, a bridge of desires and the Jewish-Arabic theater.
