The area of the Republic is the place where every tourist comes to Yerevan. This is the center of the city, from which you can walk to many other interesting places (operas, swan lake, cascade, etc.). Government buildings and several hotels are located here. All buildings are built of a pleasant pink tuff, on their background there are beautiful photos.
The most interesting on the square is, of course, the Museum of History and Singing Fountains. A visit to the museum can be combined with a walk in the center, but we did not do this, went on another day and did not regret: the exposition is big, I wanted to see everything carefully. But the fountains wondered as follows. Important moment: music on them is included only in the evening, so if your goal is to get out exactly the show, then come after 20:00, at the same time you will install the backlight. Musical set is different, from the classics to songs from the Multikov "Disney", so that the spectacle usually likes everyone.
We were lucky with the fact that I decided to go in October, because they also got on the city day. On the square arranged an indicative takeoff of balloons. Of course, the people were crowded, but the child really liked the child.
Next to the square there are many cafes and restaurants with national cuisine. We went to the "Yerevan Pandok" (at the corner of the Mariott Hotel), I liked everything, prices for the city center are very acceptable.
