In the sunny city of Athens, I was lucky to visit the autumn of 2012. Athens is a cultural, political, economic, sports center of Greece, so there is something to see here.
Of course, first of all, lovers of antique history and culture, I advise you to visit the Athenian Acropolis - the most fortified part of the city, as well as the most sublime part of the ancient city. Ticket to Acropolis costs 12 euros, for students 50% discount (!). I also recommend not just to resemble the territory of the Acropolis, but also visit the new Acropoli Museum. Honestly, this museum is one of the best museums that I visited. There are memos of all periods of ancient culture, the museum itself is constructed in the form of Parfenon. The museum is very modern and interesting. There is also a very good gift of souvenirs, where you can buy high-quality and interesting books. The only drawback is to take pictures in the museum.
Among the places that you should visit in Athens, I just could not remember the Athenian metro. The subway in Athens is a kind of free museum. Various exhibits that did not fall into museum collections are simply represented on the windows of various metro stations.
In addition, being in Athens worth walking along the Syntagma Square, where the Greek Parliament is located. Every hour there is a shift of Karaul. Believe me, this action is extremely fascinating and unusual!
Personally, I still really liked Street-Art on the streets of the city. In general, Athens - where everyone can find something unique and unusual! I wish you exciting travel!
