Gran Canaria is a very interesting island. It is ideal for a calm and measured rest. But besides the ocean and the beaches there are many interesting places.
The capital of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria island is a large large city. It is located on a small carriage, on one side of which the port is located, and on the other - the beach, along which the promenade passes. It is pleasant to walk around the city, it is clean and well maintained.
Very memorized by the city of Arucas in the north of the island with its cathedral in neo-style style. It was unexpected to see such a majestic facility after the traditional white houses.
We crossed the car island from the north to south through the central part, which is a mountain range. It was somewhat tedious, but those species that we have opened compensated for all inconveniences. We drove small towns located in the valleys between the mountains, reservoirs and green valleys.
But we got the most enjoyment by visiting Maspalomas. This is one of the most famous resort areas of the Canary Archipelago. On the coast, the endless dunes are located, which is where the rooted vegetation. The sand strip is very wide and forms bizarre verakhans. We could not lead the children from there - they frolicked, ran, jumped into the sandy pits and were very pleased.
In addition to Maspalomas with its golden sand, in the western part of the island near the airport there are several beaches with black volcanic sand.
Perhaps this is the most memorable places in the Gran Canaria. In general, the island is much more relaxed and less saturated with entertainment than Tenerife, but nevertheless, interesting enough to spend a week-friend here. Unlike Tenerife, where they constantly hear Russian speech, there are very few tourists from Russia.
