The city of Castor is known for the whole world, first of all, with its fur products. When I was in this city, I was lucky to visit the Edika Trade and Exhibition Complex, where all tourists are being brought. Well, the fur coats are really wonderful there: on any color, taste and wallet. But I would like to tell about other attractions of this wonderful city.
Castor (namely called the city of the Greeks themselves) is as well known as a spiritual center. There is a huge number of small churches of the Byzantine period. The vintage churches of the X-XI centuries are striking with their special spiritual atmosphere. Here are some of them:
Temple of Panagi Cumberdiki or Castra
Iconostasis
Church of Panagia Mauriotesi
Old fresco
Also in the castoria there is a very interesting ethnographic Museum of Evazi. In the museum you can learn about the features of the daily life of the Greeks, their life, culture. For example, you knew that when the guy came to the house of the girl to make her an offer, then she had to cook coffee. If the coffee is sweet, it meant that the girl agrees, and if bitter, then the guy refused. But this room, where such a swattle usually took place.
Also, that's what you can see here.
In general, the city of the castor is small, quiet, with narrow streets and cozy courtyards. It is very nice to just walk and enjoy the atmosphere, as well as a cup of coffee in a cafe.
