Nitra - a city in Western Slovakia, 90 kilometers from the capital of Bratislava Country, located on the shore of one of the tributaries of the Danube - the Nitra River, from the Tribech Mountains. The city is considered a cradle of Slovak Christianity and one of the optotics of Catholicism today. Nitra is divided into the upper and lower hail.
Nitran Castle
The magnificent castle complex in the heart of the Upper Grand area, from which the magnificent view of the nitra and the surrounding area offers. On the territory of the castle there is a cathedral, where you can listen to organ music, the Palace of the Bishop and a number of non-religious structures. Especially interested in the stone bridge leading to the goal of the castle. He is decorated with the statues of saints and stone vases.
Mariana Column or Plate
Its second name Marian's column, a largest construction in the Baroque style, got into memory of the plague during the epidemic. There is a column in the very center of the Upper Grade, in the Nitrans Castle.
Cathedral of Nitra (Cathedral Cathedral)
The castle cathedral is a religious complex consisting of the Church of St. Emmeram, the upper and lower churches. The most significant of these architectural structures is built in Romanesque style with the elements of the Gothic Church of the Emmerma, located in the walls of the Nitrans Castle. The construction of the church was conducted in the XI-XIII centuries.
Zhevanyan Palace
The city palace, actually located in Lower Grad, divides Nitra to the upper and lower hail. Built in Neo-Baroque style, this palace served as a residence of the county of Nitra. Svyatoplukova Square

Mount Zobor and Church of St. Michael
Low, less than 600 meters, Mount Zobor, which is part of the Slovak National Nature Reserve, is located in the suburb of Nitra. On the slopes of the mountain, a village called Drazhovets, the most valuable architectural structure of which is the church of St. Archangel Mikhail, built back in the XII century. Here is a small castle with a nitra history museum and a tiny kindergarten.
Palace in Topolchankah
In the immediate vicinity of the city in the village called Topolchanka, there is a magnificent Palace in the Renaissance style, recognized as one of the most beautiful in all Slovakia. Previously, there was a residence of the Austrian imperial family.
Komarno Fortress
In the vicinity of Nitra, in the town of Komarno there is a fortress of the same name, which is part of fortification structures on the Danube River, built by Hungary. The old fortress, built by Italian architects and the new, numbering eleven bastions stand out. Nowadays, the Roman Lapidarium Museum is located in the fortress of Komarno with the most interesting collection of monuments of ancient Rome.
