Jurmala for our compatriots is the city of fun, humor, musical concerts and everything. Jurmala is a "new wave", KVN, good old shaggy (is he still?) And so on. And then the truth, because where, how is it not for such a luxurious large resort to carry star guests from different countries and cities? By the way, the town is not young. The territory was more or less mastered from the 12th century, however, the village of Jurmala became by the end of the 18th century. And the town became especially famous when Kemeri's cities became the state resort of Russia, in the early 19th century. In Jurmala live mostly Latvians and Russians, well, as in all Latvia. By the way, the population of the city decreases quietly. But in the summer at the festivals here is always full of people. Petropavlovsk Church in Kemeru (Kemeru Petera-Pavila Baznicas)
Keemer district is known for its hot mud and sulfur sources, which seem to be even considered holy. From ancient times, people sought here for wonderful healing, and the construction of the temple near the healing sources was a logical solution. Construction was organized for donations, in 1873. The church was sanctified in the name of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul and posted it on the second floor of the hospital complex. The church was small, accommodates a little more than 20 people - the room, in short, and not the church even. And those who want to visit the service were quite a lot. So they suffered until the Riga Bishop did not complain about Kemeri - he drew attention to the scarcity of the church and threw all the forces on the construction of a new temple. Although there was absolutely no money at that time on the construction of a new cathedral. Construction began only in the 91st year of the 19th century, again for local parishioners. Although the director of the sanatorium complex contributed. The funds were collected for almost a year, at the same time there was an earth for a new temple, and she got free. The church was built for the year, immediately consecrated. Built it, I must say, in a very picturesque place, among old oaks. Inside and outside the church turned out very beautiful. In a few years, the temple was presented with icons from Greek Athos: the icon of the Mother of the Mother of Personalism, the Iverland of the Blessed Virgin and the Holy Great Martyr and the healer of Panteleimon.

Theater of luminous paintings Vitaly Ermolaeva
Gallery "Inner Light" - the theater of luminous paintings, a very interesting place. This gallery is located in the house of the artist. This artist was born and learned in Kazan in the 70s, and then the design courses in Latvia passed. Since 2004, he lives and works in Jurmala. Painting it is very interesting to its technique. His paintings were also exhibited in Moscow, Paris, Germany and Riga - only 23 solo exhibitions. Pictures of paintings by artist - straight space, incredible. Something like "Earth", "Cosmos" and everything in such a spirit. Moreover, with a certain lighting of its paintings become volumetric - all thanks to reflective paints and some special technologies of wax painting, which have already been known for two thousand years. State Cottage #2.
There is this once closed cottage in the Yantary Beach sanatorium. The sanatorium itself was opened in the 73th year and then was very prestigious. The highest leadership of the USSR and tourists from different countries rested. In this summer, and, perhaps, in all the sanatorium, everything reminds of those times: red carpets, old TVs, bookshelves with books, etc. This cottage consists of two separate two-story buildings, where there are rooms, dining room, kitchen, living room with fireplace, terrace, library, billiards room, cinema hall, office and sauna with swimming pool. However, Brezhnev did not resist here, preferring to the Baltic Crym. He preferred her warm Crimea. But here I was the second secretary of the Leningrad Region of the Romanov Party, Yuri Andropov and other important birds. Typically, guests are found here within the framework of the "Soviet Party" excursion, and in this case, the actor depicting Brezhnev will appear for them, who will perform with a couple of reports, guests will meet "Volga", and everything in such a spirit. The same place is now popular for parties and events in the "Soviet" style.
Jurmala City Museum
The museum was opened in 1962 as local history. But today the expositions are the most diverse, and the exhibits are the whole sea. They tell guests about the development and history of Jurmala and the surrounding area. There is an exhibition dedicated to the resort of Kemeri, there is a gallery, where you can admire the exhibits dedicated to ships and submarines, finds from the bottom, paintings by marinists, postcards with the coast views and all that. Also in this museum there is an exposition of swimsuits of different time segments. It seems like, this is one of the largest similar expositions in the world. At least in the Baltic States exactly the largest.
The museum has a cafe and a souvenir shop.

Holy Vladimir Church
This is the current Orthodox Church, built in 1867. An elegant building outside is decorated with stone threads, painting and carved wooden bindings on the windows. However, the temple is more famous for their icons, including miraculous. There are icons here, which rarely meet in other Orthodox churches of Latvia is the images of the great equivalent prince Vladimir, Holy Nina, Tatiana, Konstantin and Elena, Ekaterina, Olga, Valentina, faith, hopes, love and mother of their Sofia, Fedosia Chernigovsky.

Street yomas
One of the main and busiest streets of the city. This is a pedestrian street, which cafes, restaurants and pizzerias were sealed. As well as on the street there are several important buildings, such as the Latvian History Museum and the Museum of Foreign Art.
