Gstaad town is more like a small village located in the snow-covered Alps. And it is not surprising, because the houses and buildings are made in the style of the chalet, that is, a house of wood.
Very beautiful carving and shutters decorate at home, and in the summer beautiful flowerbed fragrant on every window.
In addition to the beautiful scenery and provided comfort, Gstad is a chic ski resort, you can even safely say, an elite resort, near which the Glacier Diablare is located. On this glacier skiing, it is possible to ride even in the summer season, because the peaks in the height reach close three thousand meters.
There is just a wonderful place for beginner skiers, a good plain track is located in the virgin. But there are places for fans of acute sensations. For example, to the mountain slopes of Walling, Standen, Gshhelikhorn can only be reached by helicopter, and these places are suitable only for experienced masters - skiers. The total length of the tracks is about 250 kilometers.
Gstaad is a great place to travel with children. The resort was equipped with a special school for learning children, and a special kindergarten for kids. If you have no one to leave a child at home, it is quite convenient to take it to the resort with me, without supervision it will definitely be left.
There are also panoramic trains. For example, there is a route that connects the cities of Gstad, Lucerne and Montreux, Lake Geneva and Lake of Four Cantons. This route is called a golden path, it is distinguished by beautiful landscapes and interesting locations, from the point of view of nature.
In the town itself, be sure to visit Art Gallery Beatrice Straubhaar and Atelier Steiner. As well as the Church of St. Moris and the local history museum. The center passes the street called Promenade, where the most expensive boutiques and clothing stores, accessories, clocks, jewelry are concentrated. You will find here products of such world brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Ungaro, Gucci, Moschino, Adler, Rolex.
A special free zoo has been created on the territory, because, as I have already said this is a great place for family holidays.
In Gstaad, you can also arrange overnight stay in an ice needle.
The resort offers a wide variety of indoor pools, baths, massages and other procedures. At the end of January, snowboarding competitions called SWISS Snowboard Trophy are held here. There are pedestrian routes, no less interesting and colorful, about 50 kilometers. There are specially designated places for dog sledding races.
