We promised an exciting adventure in the wilderness of the tropics with a bathing in a reservoir, which is formed by a large and beautiful waterfall.
It was decided to leave early in the morning so that there was enough time for a walk through the forest. The road there turned out to be difficult. The distance is not very large, but since the forest is in the depths of the island, then a very narrow and winding serpentine road leads to it. Scattered on the way scary. At the end of the way, it turned out that it was not possible to get to the entrance, because in the mountains of the island there were landslides and blocked the road. To do with this, the authorities are not going to do anything, and the locals as they may earn. Where off-road begins, there are Tuk-Tuki and persistently offer their services. The driver explained to us that walking is very far away and you need to take a Tuk-Tuk. To be honest, no european state would make such risks for life. The road is blurred, completely deep ruts and huge stones. To go through such a terrain in the jeep and be fastened, this is not the same thing to go on a small Tuk-Tuka, where the seat belts are not provided at all. Top rose fun, but down the descent was more like American slides without insurance. In general, adrenaline is local.
At the entrance to the forest there are very annoying conductors. They argue that the entrance to the forest without conductor is prohibited. In my opinion, it's just robbing tourists. If you walk in the forest along the laid paths, then there is just no place to get lost. But we had to pay a guide. Went to the forest in full waiting for some miracle. Promised huge trees, tropical flowers and different wild animals. In fact, we have seen one wild Waran africa, and the rest of the animals were only in the local bellows. Apparently they specifically keep a couple of deer and boars so that tourists do not make a claim. The spectacle is very miserable. Unfortunate animals are sitting in small cells. At the same time, the caretakers argue that these are sick animals, which will be cured and released into the forest. I want to believe it.
We never saw any beautiful colors or trees. The path through the forest leads, according to the guidebook, to a very beautiful mountain waterfall. Well, you need to go. No wonder we arrived. Walked for quite a long time. In fact, three waterfall in the forest, but in one day really to reach only before the first. We walked. And here, our conductor says that the waterfall on the other side of the river and it must be moved to the ferrod, since there is no bridge in the forest. Now, of course, it is possible, but the fact that local residents are trying to deceive tourists all the time. The conductor said that the river is no more than the knee of depth and we will quickly move. From the shore we really seemed that there was not deep. We removed the pants, took the cameras in the hand and went. And then it turned out that the river is not knee-deep, but on the chest of high men. Yes, the current is strong. Stones downstairs are very sharp and slippery. No one warns in advance that you need to move the river and take spare shoes with you. Therefore, we all went barefoot and afraid to drown a photo equipment. On the other side, all the exhausted, wet chest and without removable clothing were switched. But warmed the idea that we will soon see the promised waterfall. Wrapped over the angle and dumbfounded.
But not from delight, as you can assume, but from frustration. From the mountain flows a small meter waterfall three height and a couple of meters wide. It looks like a river threshold. Bathing in the lake did not work either. First, this waterfall, though small, but to swim in such places is always dangerous. And secondly, when our men passed along the river and inspected the water, it turned out that at the bottom there were very sharp boulders of stones. Who in the right mind is bathed there, I do not know - we did not risk. In general, evil, upset and tired were scary. And I also needed to move back to the other side. But the adventure on it was not over.
Only we moved and began to change clothes into those things that we still miraculously remain dry, as the crowd began to approach us. Initially, we did not even understand what it is. Of course, I saw leeches in my life, but what they know how to "run" so quickly, I did not suspect. It turns out that the occurrence of the evening they go hunting, and the best prey is tourists. We, as they could, stretched things and allowed running from this place. But it was not there. Hungry leeches there is just a million. It is worth staying to fix the shoes as they already crawl. It is worth hooking the branch with hand, as a leech is already sitting on his hand. Muga still bitten alone, so blood did not stop until the evening. Guide laughed at us and said it is useful. But sorry! It is useful when leech is medical and sterile. And when she lives in the forest in a swamp - I don't think her bite is useful.
It seems that our company does not apply to the category of cowardly, but when twilight comes in a dense forest, for each tree, someone will have someone, and the crowds of leeches are hurried - we were not to laughter. We retreated very hastily and not very fun. Here, I left the rainforest of Sygarada. Wild animals will not see there, the flora will be interesting only to botany, the waterfall is small, and the leeches are very hungry and the strongest. We are no longer in this forest.
