What excursions worth visiting in Paphos? Where better to buy excursions?

Anonim

Paphos is one of the tourist resorts, therefore, of course, many excursions start from Paphos. At first I would like to stop a little on where the excursions can be purchased and at their approximate cost.

Tour operator or turbo club?

If you have not independently booked a trip to the island, and used the services of the tour operator, then the representative of the host will be coming to your hotel, which will include a variety of trips. This, undoubtedly, there are some advantages - you do not need to go out of the hotel, you do not need to look for tourist bureaus - you just come to the guide, and he writes you on a tour. Minus in this, in fact, one, but rather essential is an overestimated price. A little run ahead, I will say that prices for excursions from the tour operator and in the turbo club, which we found themselves, differed in one and a half, and on some excursions and twice! So, if you do not want to overpay - go to the turbule, the benefit of Paphos is there, and if you don't want to spend time on this time - you can contact the hotel guide.

What is the turbo house in Paphos?

When we went to the city, we invariably came to the port, because there was where to walk and where to eat. The port also contains the final stop and bus station, from where both buses, talking on the city itself and buses that can take you to the suburbs. Right at the bus station is a small office of the company called Rusland. As you understood, the company is Russian-speaking, and offers excursions in Russian. Prices there were much less than our tour operator, and the set of excursions is absolutely the same. It was there that we acquired excursions.

The embankment also houses small kiosks that offer jeep safaris, yacht trips along the coast, as well as ordinary bus exurb. In most of them, a representative of the turbo house was located every night, so it inspired confidence.

Excursions from Paphos

From Paphos is offered a huge amount of excursions. Conditionally, they can be divided into:

  • Tours in monasteries
  • Excursions by major cities (Limassol, Nicosia)
  • Overview excursions around the island or its part
  • Excursion to the Akamas Reserve
  • Traditional Village Excursions
  • Entertainment excursions (riding on donks, Cyprus night, etc.)
  • Walking on yachts
  • Jeep Safari

We chose trip to two Cypriot monasteries (Chrisovo and Kickkos), which also included visits to the Cyprus village and Mount Olympus, as well as Travel to the Akamas Reserve.

The journey through the monasteries took from us almost all day - from the hotel we were taken at 8 am, and we returned there at about 18 o'clock. By cons of the trip, I will immediately take a pretty heavy road and long crossings. Before the first monastery, go about two hours, until the next one is also about one and a half. Most of the road passes through the serpentine, the bus we had a big (for 55 people), so some began to torment. Another just was difficult to sit on the spot for two hours (no bus stops). During the trip, the guide told us the story of the monasteries, which was rather curious. There are very few time in the monasteries of time, especially in the first - we stopped there only half an hour. In the second we stayed about one and a half hours. Immediately I will say that in principle, on this tour, it is worth going primarily with religious people, since the lion's share is devoted to religion and church. In the monasteries themselves most of the people are applied to icons and pray. We are not religious, the excursion was chosen to get acquainted with the culture of the island. Apparently, therefore, the monasteries did not make a special impression. There are no museums in them, so it is possible to inspect only the church and the adjacent territory. Our guide in our stories constantly did the emphasis on what we can buy in order to pray at home - for example, incense, icons. Being people unbelieving, we were not interested in this part of the excursion. After visiting the monasteries, they were brought to a small mountain village of Pedoull to dine. We were waiting for a covered buffet, the cost of which was not included in the price for the tour - it was necessary to pay on the spot. The food was terribly tasteless if you are there, do not repeat our mistakes - do not eat at the Mountain Rose restaurant. Then they were taken to another village, in which we were offered a variety of souvenirs. Of the advantages - prices there were really lower than in Paphos, so we purchased something. Of the minuses - in the village there was absolutely nothing to do - only buy souvenirs.

The second excursion that we visited, included a visit to the Akamas Peninsula, and we liked us much more. It was a tour of half a day - at 9 in the morning we were taken from the hotel, and for about 15 hours we returned back. We suffered this excursion much easier - it was not so far away, because Akamas is located next door to Paphos, though part of the road took place on the edge of the gorge - it was a little unpleasant, but no incidents happened. During the excursion, we visited the Avakas gorge with endemic plants (this means that they grow only in Cyprus) - it was rather curious and beautiful, the truth is rooted - we went on foot about 40 minutes, then we were brought to Lara Bay Beach, which is also called Toffee beach - there was a masonry turtle, which are guarded by the employees of the reserve and the little ones in the aquarium. There we had free time to buy. After that, we went to a small village, where dinner was expected - he was not included in the price, and we ordered on the menu what they wanted. In addition, during the excursion, we made a number of stops in beautiful places for photographing - on the observation site, near the sea caves and on the banana plantation. This tour is postponed quite easily due to the fact that it is not far, and also due to the fact that there is an opportunity to swim.
