They say this is the oldest people's urban holiday, celebrated from 1748, although someone says, the holiday has been more than 1000 years. It starts the whole holiday on Jakobsplatz, as a rule, on Friday evening. The beginning of the holiday marks the speech of the mayor of the city and certain traditional "rituals". On weekends you can see the procession of people in traditional costumes on the main streets of the city. The parade begins in Rathausoplac, moving through Perlachberg, the whole Jakoberstraße street ends in the area of the restaurant and the Augusta Hotel. The procession passes under merry traditional music and singing. These days, all bakeries and bakery cities are opened by a lady, luring guests with all sorts of delicacies, fragrant buns, muffins, cakes.
