I will talk about two day-day excursions from Vienna, who tried himself and consider it definitely the best of those that can afford a Russian-speaking tourist. They are organized by the company "Seven Travel", and it should be attentive to it: it is quite possible that when selling a voucher on a tour you will be prompted more than we will show in the end. I acquired tours of 9 and 13 hours, which in reality lasted 8 and 12 hours, and many attractions that were marked as places for photopausis, they eventually shown to me on the busement window. It was not too nice.
Vakhau Valley
Vakhau Valley is a special place, and even if there were no architectural monument in it, there would be a sake of its extraordinary landscape in it. It is called "dear romantics," as the landscape is really unusual. She lies in the yondan of the Danube between the High Hills, so that there is warmer than in the neighboring lands. On the slopes of the hills are broken by vineyards. It grows the grape variety of Riesling, which has acquired world popularity, but his homeland is exactly Wahau (in any case, the locals are sure). Another magnificent grape variety and white wine is Gruner Weltliner. Except in Austria, he did not meet me anywhere. Wine should try where his grapes grew and where it was produced, so drinking these varieties worth it here. The third attraction Vahau - Apricots. Locals consider them the most sweet and fragrant on earth, but with this statement could well argue, for example, residents of Ukraine.
The course of the Danube here is unusually fast, so it can be dangerous. But this is a real living river, and she sisces fish.
The valley is famous for two castles called Akstein and Durnstein. In Ashtayne, the knight-robber lived by name (just do not laugh!) Shrek. According to the legends, he was a real scoundrel: he kidnapped people, robbed the court passing along the Danube and even bought in human blood. The prisoners he landed on his bare cliff over the cliff, which called the "garden", and the unfortunate slaves - "rospets". There people waited for them when buyout. For the sake of justice, it is worth noting that for the X - XII centuries, which include the construction of Ashtain, the tricks of Shrek - almost standard behavior. With the exception of bloody baths, of course - hygienic procedures, even in such a terrible issue, knights were few familiar.
As part of a day excursion, Aquatin, located on a steep breakage, you can only see from the bus - lifting there would take a lot of time.
Durnstein is a castle in which the Austrian Marcgraf Leopold Babenberg sharpened Richard a lion's heart and released, only receiving 30 tons of silver as a repurchase. Now the foot of the fortress lies the town of the same name, in which all construction ceased more than two hundred years ago. An old houses are forbidden to demolish, and they are infinitely restored, and the new build just now - because the town has become such a tailed piece for tourists.
Typically, the guides make a hat for lunch, but if we neglect the meal, you can try to climb the castle. The rise in the path with stone steps takes about forty minutes, and from about the middle of the way it opens this type.
I did not neglect the dinner, and therefore climbing at the very top did not have time.
Also, excursions in the valley include a visit to the monastery and the city of Minl. This is a grand caring structure, the foot of which is half ancient, half a modern, but completely toy town. The program also includes the city of Krems, but you can only show it from the bus.
Salzburg
One day to visit this city is clearly not enough, but in order to make an impression and understand whether it is necessary to come back here and rent a hotel in order to inspect everything as it should, and just lay up from the window of the bus on fantastic mountains, go there.
