Invincible Fortress Kamenets-Podolsky

Until that day, I almost knew anything about Kamenets-Podolsky. I did not know that this is an ancient Ukrainian city with a rich history and that the old castle-fortress has been preserved there.

A visit to the city began with a tour of the so-called old town. I was very struck by architectural structures and monuments. I gladly listened to the guide, although I usually like to just walk and take pictures from you like seats.

After a walk around the city, we went to the ancient fortress, in which the guide conducted an extensive tour. The story of Ustim Carmelyuk, who was constantly flewing from prisons, was remembered forever. In the castle there is even a tower of Carmelyuk. To the depths of the soul struck the story about how the Turks took the fortress in the siege and could not take it for a long time. Indeed, the fortress is well strengthened, surrounded by the River Look and since many sides is simply impregnable. Looking out from the window of one of the towers, I moved to the Middle Ages and presented himself with a defender of the fortress from Turkish conquerors.

And I thought: how many strangers were trying to master the territories of Ukrainian lands and the courage of the Cossacks and our people as a whole.

However, it is sad that the fortress is slowly destroyed. I really want such monuments of history and architecture, like this fortress, were protected and the guardianship of the state not only in words, but also in practice.

By the way, not far from the fortress is a wonderful cafe, made in the Ukrainian style, where it is delicious, and waitresses are dressed in national costumes.
