San Sebastian is located in the north of Spain and approximately 40 kilometers from the border with France. From the capital of our Motherland or from St. Petersburg to this resort can be reached by both air and all terrestrial modes of transport. However, in this case, the most popular and convenient way is the combination of an aircraft and a terrestrial type of transport - for example, a train or bus.
In San Sebastian there is a small airport and it is called in principle as well as the city itself. But there are only 7 airlines flying there, and only 2 of them perform daily flights from Madrid and Barcelona.

From Bilbao Airport, a bus ride can cost about 17 euros. Tickets are purchased directly at the checkout in the arrival zone, and you will find a bus stop on the street right at the exit. Of course, from Biarritz to get to San Sebastian much cheaper - in this case the cost of the ticket will approximately be 7 euros. The ticket is also purchased at the checkout, and the bus will take you directly from the exit.

Approximately the same amount of time, but with a much large number of transfers it provides for a route on corporate trains - first Moscow-Nice, then Nice Marcel, then Marseille Barcelona and already at the end of Barcelona-San Sebastian. However, if you deal with the cost, then travel on trains can cost many times more expensive than an aircraft. This is due to the fact that European railways are not a cheap view of transport, and we have tickets for trans-European trains in our country at an order of magnitude higher than on internal.
European buses for tradition are cheaper alternative to trains. Because time trains usually go much longer. Of course no direct bus service from Moscow and St. Petersburg, so there will be no transplant in some of the major European cities.
In this case, it is most convenient to travel first along the route Moscow-Zurich, and then from Zurich to San Sebastian. However, such buses do not go daily, so you will need to calculate everything in time. There are also many other routes passing mainly through France.
