In fact, all the entertainment at the Egyptian resort of Soma Bay are grouped around the beaches, since there are no special attractions here, and tourists come here mainly for the sake of relaxed, or on the contrary, there is an active holiday near the sea. In North and in the southern part of the bay there are several locations with classic water entertainment - with bananas, catamarans and boats.
Also, the resort has its own and yacht club, in which, if you wish at any time you can rent a yacht. This marina is located in the northern part and essentially separates the most noisy and most fun part from the more deserted part in the center of the bay. Also on this beach there are several sites in order to play beach volleyball, but the playgrounds, unfortunately, are only directly in the territories of the hotels themselves.
In general, the most of the most important classes at this resort are Kitesurfing and Windsurfing. The main center for the occupation of the kaiting is in the northern part of the beach. This is just the perfect place to practice this particular sport - here almost constantly blows a small breeze, but at the same time there is almost no strong waves.
By the way, this center has its own powerful Wi-Faim, which practically covers an all nearby beach territory. Here it is quite possible to rent all the necessary equipment and also if you wish to take kiting lessons.
Well, in the southern part, that is, almost on the border with Safaga is already a center of surfing. This part of the beach is no longer so well protected - there are often waves. As a rule, at the resort of Soma Bay, the wind usually rises in the first half of the day, so what those who wish are engaged in these sports, starting from 8 am.
However, it can be said that the surfing and kaiting at the same time here are more suitable for novice athletes. It is almost the perfect place to start here and learn, but the advanced stems most likely can be boring here. It's nice that the swimming zones and surf with kiting have fencing.
The second most popular, and maybe more like the main entertainment at the Soma Bay resort are snorkeling and diving. The fact is that the lagoon and northern and from the southern part are framed by areas of coral reefs. Moreover, they are much more diverse and much more interesting than those that are closer to the beaches of Hurghada.
Here at the resort specifically in order to engage in snorkeling, long poults were built, from which it is very convenient to dive. In the northern part of the beach of this kind of Pier, it is located as it were to at the bottom of the peninsula near the Amwaj Blue Beach Resort & Spa Hotel, its length is 450 meters.
Exactly the same long pier is located in the southern part of Aquastars Diving Center, there are shallow areas of reefs, which can be considered even with the most simple swimming.
But in fact, the reefs close to the resort much more. There are three large plots at once, each of which has its own name - Rasaba Soma, Ras Abu Alam and Ras Abu Somagarden. Ras Abu Alam is a 400 meter reef plateau, which is at a depth of only 35 meters.
Then right in the lagoon there is a small island of Tobias. Therefore, the most popular entertainment in the resort is walking towards him on the boats. 10 kilometers from the resort in the southern direction is a coral reserve, which is called Sharm El Naga. In this place, corals are practically beginning immediately from the coast.
It is also possible to swim with the mask and dive. In addition to small colorful fish, you can meet sea turtles, several types of small sharks and octopuses. Directly in the resort of Soma Bay there is a few dive clubs in which employees speak English and in German. And already if you get south - in Safagu, then there is a Russian-speaking diving center.
