Herceg Novi in general is located near the foot of Mount Orienne, so the very first thing you can come up with here, when it comes to active vacation, it is naturally trekking. All tourist trails and routes in Montenegro are usually indicated by a special sign - this is a red circle with a white middle, something similar to the target. So, thanks to exactly such targets, it's quite difficult to get lost here.
If you are interested in serious hiking in the mountains, starting from the distance from 8-10 kilometers, or even more, then the Herceg Novi will be a great place for you to relax. From close routes to the mountains here the most popular is to the saddle of Mount Orienne, which is located on a height of about 1600 meters, and to approach the observation site, it will be necessary to rise even higher. And some of this path can be completely overcome by car.
For example, from Herceg Novi, you first need to get to Vrban - the distance between them is more than 20 kilometers. Well, from the town of Vrban you will need to rise to the saddle along a steep rubble path with a length of 11 kilometers, and then you need to go through an hour and a half to the observation deck. It is necessary to allocate for at least a day for such a route, and do not forget about comfortable shoes, a headdress and water, well, of course about the camera.
The Adriatic Sea is certainly not so richly an excellent water world as, for example, the red or ocean coast, but nevertheless, diving in Montenegro is also practiced. True, this can be done not in the Herceg Novi itself, but not far in Lushtitsa around the town area called Bigovo. There are active immersions, but you can also go snorkeling.
At the same time, in the urban feature of Herceg Novi, there are their diving clubs who offer the most different programs for the immersion of children and adults. And the points for the diving of this club have a fairly decent amount - these are old military tunnels, Mamoum Island, sunken ships and a blue cave and so on. The cost of immersion in the club begins from 30 euros, but training courses here will be offered for the amount of from 90 to 150 euros.
The next interesting type of entertainment can be fishing. It is available everywhere practically throughout the coast. You can buy a fishing rod and tackle in Herceg Novi fishing stores, which are few here. Locals prefer to fish on the beach of Igalo, because there is still smaller people, and the water is quieter. Well, already more experienced fishermen usually go fishing into the sea by boats.
Mostly, the worker is caught in local waters - it is a stunningly delicious and very inexpensive fish. Then there is also a tuna, Sybas, Sardina and Dorado, and you can also catch some sea reptiles, such as octopuses, squid, hedgehogs, moray and skates. So the Adriatic Sea in principle is very rich in catch.
Another excellent entertainment in Herceg Novi is a boat riding, which in itself is incredibly perfect. For example, you can take excursions to the Bolko-Kotor bay, which includes a visit to several islands. They stand in the area of 20 euros. Well, just ride to the beach Zhaga, or until the other hand, the Lushtitsa peninsula will cost you about 8-10 euros.
Such excursions, as a rule, start at about 9-10 in the morning and continue until 5 pm. There are several major berths in the city, from which essentially escaped sightseeing boats - two such berths are located on the beach of Igalo, but you can also go from the central pier of Herceg Novi. If you suddenly do not get to the excursion boat, then you can always have to agree with any of the private traders during the day and even in the evening.
