Bigovo is one of the most secluded and, perhaps, little-known villages in Montenegro. This is the place where the most experienced tourists have come for a measured rest away from noisy resorts, from large hotels and from the filled beaches. Geographical bigovo is located on the Adriatic coast, quite close to the Bay of Bay. In essence, the village is located between Tivat and Budva, just 5 kilometers from the airport.
The village is very small and a little more than 100 people live in it. Ethnically, almost all residents of Bigovo are Serbs, and the most popular occupation among them is fishing. Many secured Montenegrins living in the capital are very often resting in BiGov, or in others relative to major cities. Here they have their own villas, in which they enjoy nature and silence.
Bigovo cozy is located on the shores of a small bay, which perfectly protects the village from all sorts of storms. Thanks to this circumstance, there are almost never winds. In addition, the sun shines most of the year at the resort, and it rains here it is extremely rare. From all sides of the village is surrounded by the majestic mountains, and their slopes are literally completely covered with beautiful green pines and laurel trees that fill sceniosity and freshness.
All locals seek to take care, rent a room, villas and apartments. If you walk along the village, you can see that almost every yard will hang ads on the delivery of housing. In essence, there are no hotels in the village, since the bigovo is unclaimed resort, therefore prices here are relatively low.
There are several fish restaurants and local dishes here are so good here that even some residents of neighboring resorts and holidaymakers come here to dine and dine. Basically, there is a fresh fish in any possible way to prepare and delicacies from seafood.
The only preserved attraction in Bigovo is the Church of St. Nicholas. Local residents have survived the legend that even the Apostle Paul itself has once read its sermons. However, in antiquity, this temple was burned along with the village, and when the locals returned here, the first thing they began to restore the church. Near the Cape, which is located on the right side of the Church, you can see the abandoned territory of the former military base, from which today only ruins remained.
Mostly tourists come here for the sake of the beach - it is concrete and rocky, and also holds on its pretty small territory several sandy sites, which are perfect for recreation. However, the beach area is not located in the village of Bigovo, but a pair of kilometers from him in the bay.
Along the beaches stand on the pier fishing vessels, and the locals are always happy to show the tourists of beautiful fishing places, or take them to the islands. Also, they can also buy fish right on the shore. There are no rental points on this beach. If you want to work out here diving, underwater hunting or snorkeling, then all the necessary equipment must be brought with you.
On the beach there is only automotive parking and a pier for boats and boats. In addition, a small embankment with cafes and restaurants stretched along the coast here.
Rest in Bigovo is incredibly calm and measured, since there are no clubs, no theaters, no more entertainment. Basically, in the village there are only couples with children or older people, which value the measured rhythm of life, prevailing in Bigovo, its partially untouched nature and the welcoming hospitality of the indigenous population.
Therefore, the most beautiful pastime in Bigovo are hiking along the village, because from the slopes of the mountains there are amazingly beautiful views of the bay, on the nearest villages and the Adriatic Sea. In order to somehow diversify your pastime at any time, you can go to the closest Kotor, or in a noisy tyith.
In any of these cities can be reached by car for no more than 20 minutes. Bigovo should not come to young people, either active tourists who seek to take parties to noisy entertainment, traveling to excursions and movements around the country. If your budget is limited, you can greatly remove the house in this village, but for entertainment you can safely go to the neighboring resorts.
