The entire Cypriot Pissouri village is essentially saturated with an atmosphere of antiquity. Here you can see white houses with cute tiled roofs, of course the narrow cobbled streets, then colorful restaurants and of course friendly smiles of Cypriots. And all this grace constantly attracts tourists from all countries of the world. There is a fountain on the central square of the resort, and the locals are very loved to relax in cozy cafes. Well, at every day off, immediately after the sunset, discos with traditional Cypriot dances are arranged here.
Attractions in Pissouri are essentially a bit and one of them is the Orthodox Temple of the Apostle Andrei. You will undoubtedly see it when you walk along the winding streets of Pissuri. The church was built in a fashionable then gothic style, and around it is a cemetery. In this temple, the main value is a wooden iconostasis, for the creation of which was spent about about 10 years. However, there are several more temples and chapels in Pissouri, which must be visited.
Literally not far from the town of Pissouri is the village of Jeroskipu. There, the most remarkable object is the Church of Aya Paraskevi, which was built in the eleventh century. What is noteworthy is that at this very place once in ancient times was the temple of the Goddess Aphrodite, near and around which the sacred gardens were broken. Also in Jeroskipa, if you wish to visit the Museum of Folk Art.
On the way to Limassol from Pissuri, there is an ancient sanctuary of Apollo Gilalate. From it to this day, there are few ruins - columns, steps, part of the wall, arena for competitions and swimsuits. However, these ruins have an undoubted historical value for all Cyprus. The fact is that there was a huge number of archaeological excavations, and an incredible number of ancient artifacts was found here. The complex is open for visiting every day from 8 am and up to 6 pm, and only 2 euros will be paid for the entrance ticket.
The most perhaps the beautiful natural attraction of Pissouri is Evdim Beach. It is incredibly cozy and attracts visitors with its quiet waters and a pretty tavern with an incredibly delicious kitchen and a stunningly friendly owner. The beach is securely protected from the winds of high white cliffs, so water in the Mediterranean Sea here is always awesome calm.
On the beach there is a diving school, in which experienced instructors of all wishes are taught underwater swimming. Also here we can rent equipment in order to damage under water, motorcycles and water skiing, as well as other accessories to actively spend your vacation.
