Krivoy Rog is famous for its limits as one of the longest cities in Europe, and in Ukraine as one of the largest metallurgical centers. And although it can be said, deprived of tourist glory, but here you can find some interesting sights that clearly have to see.
In 2011, a very beautiful musical fountain appeared in Krivoy Rogu, and launched it just for the birthday of the city. Nowadays, this surprisingly beautiful fountain is also the largest in Ukraine, and speaking about its light-dynamic and musical effects, one can say that this is one of the successfully implemented projects in the improvement of the city, especially since he is built on charity money. The fountain is located on the city's square in front of the city council building and is especially beautiful in the evening when the backlight turns on and it seems to "dance" under beautiful music.
About 30 years ago, the Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was founded. And since then, his collection is constantly expanding and all new and new varieties of various decorative plants are added to it. It is noteworthy that you can come here at any time of the year and there is always a look here. Over 4000 plants that were brought from different parts of the world, successfully passed here in the Botanical Garden of the Rog Krivoy, and the collection of trees and shrubs is even attributed to the national heritage of Ukraine.
Also, several hundred species of plants are growing here, which are today very rare and disappearing, many of them are listed in a red list of not only Ukraine, but also peace and Europe. The garden square is very big, and here you can arrange something like a small hike, or just stroll through a very beautiful park area. Naturally, it is best to come here in a spring time, when everything around everything is flourishing and striking the violet of paints.
Another attraction, which is a kind of business card of the city, is considered the Park named after the Pravda newspaper. Now this park is named Fedor Merchavts. The greatest interest here is a boat station, built here in May 1957. Then at that time you could ride a boat for 30 kopecks.
A much later, this boat station has become exactly the traditional place for which newlyweds come after they will register their marriage. To date, this station is still valid and continues to work, and in the summer, you can still rent boats or catamarans. The station to address the city authorities was included in the list of architectural monuments by the city.
In 2011, a monument was opened in Krivoy Rogu, dedicated to the founder of the city. This is a sculpture that symbolizes the Cossack of the horns holding his horse to his horse and standing in front of him. This monument was armed with a colossal monolith of iron ore, which weighs almost 62 tons, and the sculpture itself is also very massive and weighs about 3 tons. The sculpture was cast in a private workshop on the draft Ukrainian sculptor Alexander Vasyakin.
Another remarkable place in the Krivoy Rogue and, moreover, a suspended bridge across the Inguletz River is considered very romantic. It is also located in the Park of Culture and Rest named after Fedor Merchavts. The bridge appeared at this place at one moment with the opening of the park and it happened everything in 1932. This place was and remains the most beloved for walks in lovers and now here, as at other bridges, many make their desires and leave the locks on memory. From the bridge there is a stunningly picturesque view of the intersection of two rivers - Ingulets from Saksagan.
Immediately after visiting the Botanical Garden, when you will be in the Damansky microdistrict, do not immediately look at the Museum of Mountain Technology, which is located in the open sky. In the exposition of this unique museum, a mining equipment used in the northern mining and processing plant is presented. All exhibits are located right in the open sky, and the entrance to the museum is a picturesque staircase, which is completely decorated with flowering flower beds. Here you can see a genuine technique, which at one time processed a huge number of cubic meters of mining raw materials. It also has benches for recreation, and there is a playground nearby.
Another business card of the city is considered the observation deck of South. This place is a unique feature of an exclusively horror curve, because in fact the quarry of the Southern Mining and Obrich Combine is one of the world's largest and deepest in Ukraine. In length, it stretches for 3 kilometers, and its width reaches almost two and a half kilometers, the depth is 340 meters. From the observation deck near this career, fantastic and incredible views are opened, it is here that you can fully experience all the grand scale of this structure.
