Makhachkala - the capital of Sunny and incredibly hospitable Dagestan is a very modern city, although his story is counted since 1857. It was then that Petrovsk's fortress was laid here for a very strategically advantageous seaside site, which allowed to control the caravan path held on Derbent. Well, after that, on the shore of the Caspian Sea, a man-made and very comfortable harbor has already been built, the significance of this city is incredibly increased.
At the same time, he turned into a rather major logistics node, which was connected by the sea with Baku and Vladikavkaz. Well, the beginning of the twentieth century, which coincided with the peak of the oil boom, made an impetus and development in the city of industry. Gradually, the policy developed and his population was constantly growing. To date, Makhachkala is one of the largest cultural and shopping centers of the North Caucasus.
One of the most beautiful sights of Makhachkala is a Juma Mosque - this is a magnificent temple, which is one of the largest Muslim cult facilities in Europe. This mosque was opened in 1997, and today, at the same time, almost almost 17,000 people can safely be accommodated at the same time.
The most remarkable lies in the fact that initially this temple had to have much smaller dimensions, but already in the process of construction in the project, changes were constantly introduced. It is not surprising, but additional funds for the construction of the mosque were able to assemble with the help of telemarafon. The mosque look incredibly attractive - its snow-white facade is decorated with tiles, and minarets are incredibly slim and elegant. The inner interior of this temple is also beautiful - everywhere the amazing ornaments and the corresponding quotes from the Koran caused by the Arabic Vseu.
One of the most familiar sights is also very popular in Makhachkala - a monument to the famous revolutionary Makhach Dahadaev, whose name actually received the current capital of Dagestan, who until 1901 was called as Port Petrovsk. The bronze equestrian sculpture of this fiery fighter for Soviet power is established on a pedestal folded from stone blocks. She actually appeared here before the railway station building back in 1971. Mahach sends in the saddle with a lean on her shoulders, as well as a look of solid and confident in the bright future of Dagestan.
Perhaps the most oldest city building and its symbol is considered here by Petrovsky Lighthouse, which was erected at this place back in 1866. Almost during the century, he very regularly performed his functions and pointed out the captains of the courts a quiet way to the cozy port of the port. Well, gradually the hexagon tower naturally became an integral part of the cityscape of Makhachkala. The construction of a lighthouse in 27 meters high is lined with red and white brick, and in general the lighthouse is perfectly visible from any part of the beautiful old city. To climb the Lighthouse Lookingtern, it is necessary to overcome 117 steps along the screw staircase.
Naturally, Makhachkala never forget about his great poet Rasule Gamzatov, who glorified the republic to the whole world. Near the Dramatic Theater in 2010, a monument, who almost immediately became one of the business cards of the city, was opened in the solemn setting in honor of the great writer and the classics of Dagestan literature. On the pedestal, lined with red granite, the bronze sculpture of Rasul Gamzatov is installed, on which the poet is depicted in a sitting pose with a book in his hand. So it seems that Rasul Gamzatov and now composes its beautiful poems.
Dagestan is an incredibly unique republic, since here as nowhere state status has been assigned to 14 languages. And do not forget that representatives of both intelligentsia and the working class from fraternal Russia have been made to the development and enlightement of this republic. In memory of this, an unusual monument dedicated to an ordinary Russian teacher was established on the territory of the picturesque park Ak-Gel. This bronze sculpture, having a height of 10 meters, depicts a girl with a revealed book, which relies on the globe. It is placed under the dome design of the pyramidal form, but as a pedestal for this statue serves the roof of the building where the Museum of the City History works.
