Temryuk is a relatively small resort town located in the south of Russia in the Krasnodar Territory, which is the administrative center of the district of the same name. There are quite a few large enterprises in the city that are engaged in winemaking, then agricultural and fish production. He was opened in 1983, but gradually became even a business card of the town of Temryuk. A very informative Museum of the Cossack History, located in the building of the former Stanic Administration in 1994, was opened near Temryuk Stanitsa Starotitarian. Another incredibly interesting museum in Temryuk is the historical and archaeological, which was opened in 1920 and almost immediately became the main educational facility in the city. In addition to the museum exposures presented in the halls, there were still mugs for children all the time, in which they were told about minerals and on archaeological expeditions, as well as discovery made during their holding. Also, the guys could look into the telescope on space bodies and planets. Thanks to numerous excavations, the museum employees constantly manage to replenish their collection. Unfortunately, in the period of the Great Patriotic War, many items from the museum were looted. In particular, unfortunately, employees note that the exhibits from bronze and the ancient Greek dishes were disappeared, the library and art gallery were destroyed. But gradually the collection was restored, and now the museum's exposition was replenished with exhibits on the history of the Cossacks of this region.
Since mud volcanoes are one of the main natural attractions of the Temryuk Territory, while being on vacation, you need to visit at least one of them. For example, the most well-equipped tisar. It is a small mountain of 230 meters high, and on its vertex directly located the mud lake wide from 15 to 20 meters. Moreover, the uniqueness of the volcano Tydar is also the fact that it is valid, although it manifested about about 10 million years ago. The very first written mentions about this volcano dated another 1799, but the last major eruption here occurred about 100 years ago. Right on the territory of the town of Temryuk there is one unique structure - this is a very famous settlement of Fanagoria. In fact, it is an ancient Greek colony, the remains of which are the largest in the territory of the south of Russia. It is almost continuously archaeological excavations, despite the fact that the total area of this settlement is about 6 hectares. Even in the eighteenth century, the Sanctuary of Aphrodites was discovered at this place, and a little later in 1822 the Kurgan, in which there were objects of silver and gold.
Also during the excavations on the territory of Fanagoria, marble sarcophages were found in large quantities, and in addition, almost all this territory is literally littered with fragments of ancient ceramic dishes. The most, perhaps, valuable samples, naturally, were transferred to the museum of the region, well, and the remaining pieces of this dishes can take any visitor as a souvenir. Scientists suggest that the main part of the territory of Fanagoria is currently under water, so the main studies have recently pass there.
