The very first settlers in the territory of modern Zlatoust came back at the end of the 17th century for searching for gold. According to the statements of old sources, the secret that someone smelves the precious metals mined at the Siberian grief on the local lake, one old man from the Dolmatovsky Assumption Monastery was given to terrible tortures. So, in just a few years, the most first Russian settlers in this territory were the participants of the military geological expedition. However, this expedition ended with a complete collapse and the precious metals they did not find.
Then the attempts were made in search of silver and gold, but only a few decades later, iron ore was discovered in these places, and then a new iron reserving plant was laid. Well, since 1754, the city, who received the name of Zlatoust began to grow around this plant. Krap historians believe that the city has received their name in honor of St. John of Zlatoust. To date, the city of Zlatoust became famous for its weapons masters, who specialized in the fact that weapons were decorated with elegant engravings on metal.
The very first place where it is necessary to go to Zlatoust, this is the urban local history museum, which was opened back in 1825. The very first exposition in it was a collection of minerals along with the rocks of the Urals and of course the exhibition of weapons made by local masters. To date, rare products from porcelain, bronze and glass are presented in the museum fund. You can also get acquainted with the ethnographic features of the city of Zlatoust and admire the collection of ancient Russian painting. Also, to visit the upper factory dam of the city of Zlatoust, which was built by the very first founders of the iron plant in 1754, and the wooden base of the dam was then made of larch. Already then the dam was quite a complex engineering structure consisting of very many details. The hydraulic wheels rotated there, and the water came directly into the domain shop of the plant. At the same time, a bridge was thrown through the dam, and the entire height of this structure was 4 seedlings. Also in Zlatoust there is a very interesting sculpture, which is called the "winged horse". The fact is that earlier the tool factory has somehow released, of course, the souvenir coins called "Happy Cuzyuk". Residents of the city naturally really liked this non-standard idea and was decided to perpetuate it. Well, it goes without saying that after the appearance of a sculpture in Zlatoust, a legend was born that everyone who would touch this coin would be very happy.
Of the religious institutions of Zlatoust, the Bolf Tower from the chapel of St. John Zlatoust is the greatest interest. It was built in honor of the urban patron literally in 200 days in 2006. At the top of the bell tower there is a sightseeing area located at an altitude of 36 meters. So everyone can get there, admire the city panorama, but at the same time you can also call the bell. It is noteworthy that the park is almost constantly updated with the newest objects. Here you can see cast sculptures of the silver hoof, the hostess of the copper mountain, as well as others who loved us since childhood the heroes of the Ural writer.
