Sunny Alicante on the Mediterranean coast

How I love Spain with its endless sandy coasts, affectionate sun and smiling Spaniards. This year they decided to drive around the coast and the first stop on our list was the city of Alicante. From the very first minutes, the city has a wide beaches with the purest sea, narrow streets of the Old Town and Mount Benacantil, which towers over the whole city.

In Alicante, arrived in mid-April, just during the Easter week. The city is transformed at this time. Everywhere hears the music of numerous orchestras, the participants in the procession carry the platforms with the sculptures of the saints. Everything is here: from the smallest children to the elderly, because everyone wants to invest part of themselves in this sacred holiday. Everything is very beautiful and rich. You can walk for hours on the streets, watching the procession and enjoying the music. Since we lived in the center, sometimes it was enough to just open the window or go to the balcony to enjoy this spectacle.

Of course, one of the main attractions of Alicante is the fortress of Santa Barbara on Mount Benacantil. You can climb it in two ways: on the elevator for 2.5 euros, which is laid in the grief itself and on foot. Since we didn't really want to stand in line for the elevator, we chose the second option. The rise is simple and very picturesque.

You can enjoy clock. The fortress itself is free and anyone can get there. Everywhere cannons, pedestal turrets and endless fortress walls. Immediately you start to represent how the Spaniards in the Middle Ages defended the city from the raid of enemies. At least the entrance to the fortress and free, but in the evening the passage to the territory is closed.

The whole city is drowning in colors.

Beautiful pedestrian bridge, which connects the beach and the upper part of the city, in the evening it is pleasant to walk or just admire the sea from his height.

There are many places in the city where you can have delicious dinner. Selected mainly places working on the principle of the buffet. So, for example, in a buffet Colonial, you can dine in just 11 euros per person. You will be offered fish, meat, seafood, various finished dishes, snacks and desserts in unlimited quantities. Additionally, you will have to pay only drinks. It will not be possible to refuse, the waiters insist that this is necessary.

For those who do not like to sit in one place, there are various options for excursions. For 6.5 euros on the tram, you can get to the wonderful city of Benidorm or for 30 euros on a comfortable ship for a whole day to go to the neighboring island of Tabarka. In general, it is obsolete to spend time mass. The city produces only positive impressions. For those who have never been there, I definitely advise you to visit.
