In 2017, vacation with my husband fell at the end of October. I did not want to fly far, so Cyprus was chosen. It was important for us to have a sandy beach with a comfortable entrance to the sea, since we rested with a small child. We also wanted the resort to be calm, without nightclubs under the windows of the hotel, so when choosing a resort, our choice fell on Protaras, which is not far from Aya-Napa.
The impression of the rest we had two. On the one hand, at the end of October, the adequate value of Cyprus gave us a very warm sea, good weather and a full-fledged beach holiday. On the other hand, the country itself is not impressed. We lived in a small category 3 * 400 meters from the sea. The hotel's own beach was not that for Europe is quite normal. Every day we rented 2 lounge chairs and 1 umbrella for 12 euros and, mostly went to the farthest beach near the church. There were always many children there, they played the beach volleyball and my son gladly joined them. The hotel also did not have the territory, the food was very modest, but we understood that it was "treshka" and nothing grandiose from the hotel was originally waiting. They confused only Bulgarians who worked there. I have a huge travel experience, but such a Hamsky relationship, as in Cyprus, I have not met anywhere. I will not go into details, I will only say that they are pretty impressed by the rest.
Protaras himself is a small resort town with shops, cafes and bars. Honestly, we were a little boring there, because it was not worth a walk. There is no embankment, somehow the central pedestrian street too, and it was not interesting to walk along the showcases every evening.
The beaches in the resort are excellent: sandy, with a gentle entrance to the sea, ideal for young children. In Protaras, mostly very wide stranded, meters 500 exactly, so children run with great pleasure by the sea, and parents calmly watch it from the beach.
Prices in the resort are absolutely not reasonable. A trip to the sports bar cost us 50 euros, despite the fact that we ordered 2 beers, nuts and ice cream with juice. In the bakery near our hotel, the son ordered ordinary Madfin, which cost 7 euros. The same applies to the cost of excursions, although, in my opinion, in Cyprus only one standing excursion is a sea walk by the city of Famagusta. Therefore, we were not ready to give 150 euros for the donkey farm.
Once we went on the bus to Aya Napa, on the famous Nissi Beach. Aya-Napa is completely different, more civilized, noisy, developed. It is ideal for youth recreation. We liked this resort.
It is unlikely that I will return to Cyprus, but if friends have vacation falls on the second half of autumn, I would advise to consider Cyprus, as this is the only European country where it is hot in late October.
