But this does not mean that this city has no historical value at all. As in many central European cities in Madrid there are also a lot of both architectural and historical attractions. And of course there is a lot of museums in it, one famous Prado is worth it!
So, if you do not work for an independent inspection of Madrid to highlight more than two days - do not work out especially, because all the same, the main sights you have time to see and the general idea of the city will get.
Start your acquaintance from Salt Square - By the way, there is a metro station there, so you can see it in extremely. This is almost the center of Madrid, because it is here that the icon denotes the zero kilometer. First of all, you will see a bear sculpture, eating a strawberry tree. She, by the way, is considered a symbol of Madrid. And here there is a very interesting figure of the janitor, sweeping the leaves. If you do not care about more closely, you might first think that this is a living artist, which is so much in crowded places. Well, it is also worth of course to draw attention to the equestrian statue of Carlos III - one of the Spanish kings.
Then you should go to the Major Square, which many tourists consider central, but they are still mistaken in this matter. Here, too, in the center of the square you can see the equestrian statue of the king, but this time another - Philip III. There is nothing more to look here, well, except for an interesting building, decorated with frescoes of frivolous content. Just here is the main tourist office, in which you can get a free map of the city.
Next, we move towards the San Miguel market, which, by the way, is greatly reminded by the Barcelonian market. There are many tables of exactly the same format and a large number of diverse snacks including from sea shots. You can eat a little snack and put the glass of delicious Spanish wine.
Right from the market, you need to move straight to Almudenu - the main Cathedral of Madrid. In principle, it is even not one building, but rather a whole complex in which several museums are located together with the center of the Diocese of Madrid. The cathedral inside is not only beautiful, but also very spacious - even in football there.
Further along the path of the Royal Palace, which is considered the official residence of the Spanish royal family. However, during the Dictatorship of Franco, it was nationalized, and today it is used exclusively for various solemn ceremonies. All other days it is open to tourist visits. The entrance to the charge and queue there is usually huge. By the way, next to the Royal Palace on Oriente Square you can see another equestrian sculpture of the King of Spain - Philip IV.
The last area you need to visit on the first day will be the area of Spain. Oddly enough, but there are no royal equestrian statues on it. But there is a sculptural composition dedicated to Don Quixhot and his faithful squire of Sancho Pansa. Near her usually all tourists make selfie. And finally, in order to not come back here the next day, it is worth a look at the Debody - the Egyptian temple transferred to Madrid entirely.
The second day is better to devote to the study of the historic center of the city. Start from visiting Cellis Square. The most remarkable thing is there there is a fountain of the same name. But unfortunately, it is impossible to come close to him closely because of the intensive movement, and some transitions are simply not provided for. Near the fountain there is an incredibly pompous building - there is an urban area in it. However, it only takes part of the building, and everything else is given under the museums. By the way, there is an observation deck at the top - if you wish, you can climb.
Then it is worth viewing the Gate of Alcala, which strongly resemble the Parisian triumphal arch. Well, straight apart with these gates is the largest park in Madrid - Retiro. It is necessary to go to the park necessarily, not even in order to take a walk on it (it simply does not have enough time), but to visit the couple of free museums, well, exhibitions if they are there.
By the way, next to the lake in the park, again, you can see the sculpture of the Spanish king Alfonso XII and again on horseback. However, your goal will be the palace of Velasquez, in which some exhibitions of modern artists constantly pass. Then you need to visit the Crystal Palace - a fantastically beautiful building.
After a walk, quickly in the park go out from the opposite side of him, and you will immediately get to the Central Station of the city of Madrid - Atkha. Inside it is a very pretty greenhouse with turtles and palm trees. If you wish, you can look there.
Well, now the last goal on the second day of visiting the Spanish capital is the Prado Museum. In principle, he also resembles the Paris Louvre, but only the sizes of his little smaller, which cannot be said about the number of world masterpieces. By the way, after the six evenings, the entrance to the museum is free, but only a queue should be held at another five hours, because it is huge. At the exit from the museum, if it is not very dark, you can take a picture of a very pretty church of St. Jerome.
