Today I want to tell about the holiday on the Greek Island of Tasos, where the family was flying (two adults and the child) at the end of June last year.
I will immediately say that Thassos is one of the northernmost Greek islands. By virtue of this climate, compared with more southern regions, a cooler - at the end of June, water warms up to 22 - 23 degrees, the air temperature does not exceed 30 - 32. However, we, the baltic lovers, was quite comfortable.
Second nuance. The island is small, its circumference is a little more than a hundred kilometers. The airport is absent. To get to the island, Europeans use personal transport, reaching the kavala and then travel a little more than an hour on the ferries. In Kavala, there is an airport named after Alexander the Great, he takes both local and international flights, but, by virtue of the weak load of the latter, it is mainly charters. When planning recreation on Tasos, it is worth it to keep in mind.
As a resort, this direction to the tour operators of the CIS countries began to be developed not so long ago. By virtue of this Russian-speaking public in Thassos, there is enough little, and, mostly, these are citizens of Moldova or Ukraine, arriving by their move. As a result, the serving staff does not understand the Russian language, in communicating it is necessary to count on a very low level of English and Greek.
