In the resort town of Kolimbia, which is located on the legendary Greek Island Rhodes, we (I, my husband, sons are 11 and 2 years old) visited at the very end of September. I note that this time of year is ideal for a beach holiday with young children: the sea is very warm, the air temperature is comfortable - not hot, while it is pleasant to get out of the water. The rain was caught only once and that was the day of our return to Russia, as if Rhodes cried, spending us home.
One of the main advantages of Kolimbia is a favorable location, the resort is equally convenient to get to the two most interesting to visit the cities of Rhodes and Lindos. And in the vicinity of the village itself there is something to see, for example, the monastery of the Tsambik and the valley of seven sources.
The monastery we decided to leave the next time, but seven sources visited. By themselves, these streams with drinking water, carrying their waters in a small lake, seemed to me little interesting, but the children were happy to talk with animals in a mini zoo. However, the most vivid sensation was left the famous narrow tunnel, which should be held in a pitch darkness, moving along an ankle in ice water. Impressions, to put it mildly, an amateur, however, who wanted to ripped themselves, the nerves were enough. The fact is that the tunnel has passed to the end expects a reward - according to legend, the men after that are cleaned from seven sins, and women are filling for whole seven years!
In the very columbia of entertainment, there is not much, and the nightlife leaves much to be desired. But here there are several beaches. For example, at 5-10 minutes of just walking from our hotel (Kolymbia Sun Hotel 3 *) there are as many as three comfortable beach. The best beach of the resort is the beach with the same name - Kolimbia Beach. This is a big, sandy-pebble beach with a comfortable sunset at sea, the depth is growing gradually. Great place to relax with children, even with very kids.
However, we preferred to swim and sunbathe on a small sandy beach that did not use special love among holidaymakers. I do not even know why we chose it, as they say, you will not order the heart. Sun beds and umbrellas were paid, but they didn't need them - sunbathe on their mats, they hid from the sun under their beach umbrella.
I noticed that the main part of the vacationers preferred to take a car for rent and independently explore the island. The office offering this service is very much, you can choose a proposal for every taste and wallet, it is almost impossible to get lost on Rhodes, and there is something to see what, therefore the next time you will do this.
To please the children, decided to go to the water park, located in the village of Faliraki. Before him, holidaymakers will take a free free bus, which every day is departed from the Zeus supermarket. The same bus closer to the evening brings everyone back to Kumbia.
As for the shopping, it first all deserves high-quality and relatively inexpensive cosmetics based on olive oil (for example, Aphrodite brand), handmade soap, olive oil, local production wine, and leather products.
Rest in the village of Kolymbia seemed very calm, relaxing, returned home by peaceful and satisfied. I think more than once visit this cozy resort.
