Chinkwe Terre is a wonderful natural National Park, located in the Italian region of Liguria on the west coast of the country. In Russian, the name of this park is translated as "five lands" and this is no accident, because it consists of five small town-communities, which are quite picturesquely located among the beautiful mountain slopes near the sea itself.
Since 1997, the entire Park of Chinkwe Terre, as well as nearby, the city of Portovenere has come under the auspices of the UNESCO World Organization. In principle, the very first settlements of people in these places are related to the period of the rule of the Roman Empire, but nevertheless the bulk of the localities appeared here in the Middle Ages. Among them, you can list the man-made terraces along the seashore, as well as monuments of both secular and religious architecture - sanctuary, temples, vintage mansions and palaces.
Get to Park Chinkwe Terre can be from other Italian cities by rail, for example, from Genoa, a direct train goes to Riomaggiore, which is located on the park. From the other cities we must first get to the main city of this province of spices, and then transfer to the regional train next to Riomaggore.
By the way, not all travelers know that moving around such a national park as Chinkwe Terre on cars is prohibited. Although no one is particularly this restriction, because cities are very close to each other and everyone usually go on foot, admiring the breathtaking views along the way. The National Park includes five cities and, if you move on them from the south to the north, in order of their names they will sound like that - Riomaggore, then Manarola, then Corneville, followed by Rubnatz and finally Monterosso. Each of these communes claims the title "most" - the biggest, southernmost and so on. But at the same time, they all together form a whole, harmonious and essentially a single space, while each with its own unique appearance and attractions.
Riomaggiore is considered the most southern commune park and the most close to the city of Spice. Its foundation accounted for the thirteenth century. The city has a railway station and a pier with a small but very rocky beach. It is noteworthy that with the neighboring Commune - Manarola Riomaggiore connects with the help of the Love Road - a very picturesque pedestrian trail.
From the attractions of this town, you can note the Church of John the Baptist, built in 1340, the city castle and the Temple of Montenegro, which, according to old legends, was built back in the eighth century.
Manarola is considered the oldest of all five communes. It is here that on Christmas Eve, the most in all of Italy scene, the scene, depicting the birth of a baby of Christ and who came to wilts to worst at that moment. In Manararol, you can visit the ruins of ancient bastion, see the image of the Madonna of the eighth century in the Temple of the Virgin of Health, and go to the town of GropPo to try amazing wine.
Cornilla is not only the smallest, but also the most perhaps the highly located town from the total so-called "five-litel". But this circumstance does not make it less picturesque. Well, this is the only city in which there is not even a port, therefore, and you can get here either by walking or walking on foot or by reaching the train. Here you can see the beautiful church of St. Peter, built in 1334 in the style of Ligurian Gothic, the ruins of the ancient Genoese fortress and a stunningly beautiful Beach of Hwano.
Vernatza is considered the most beautiful of all five communes and, accordingly, the pearl of the entire National Park. Multicolored buildings are crowded near the shore itself, but on the streets of the city there are medieval villas with modern houses. If you get to the Tower of Belforte or on the walls of the castle of Doria, then you can admire the beautiful views of the surrounding area. In the town of Vernatza, however, as in other cities of the National Park, the attractions are mainly religious - the church of St. Margarita Antiokh, the Temple of Black Madonna Reggio and so on.
Monterosso is considered the fifth city, if you go from the south to the north, and almost the largest of all the cities of Chinkwe Terre. Here is not only the largest, but also the most comfortable beach. Therefore, tourists here usually happens much more than in other cities. Yes, and night entertainment here are most widely represented.
The main architectural attractions of Monterosso are considered to be an Aurora Tower, which remained from the old fortress built in the sixteenth century, the giant statue of Neptune with the sink on the shoulder, and the Church of John the Baptist with the chapel adjacent to her (Mortis-et-Orationis).
