Vienna State Opera is the largest opera house in Austria and at the same time the center of musical culture. Moreover, it is widely known not only in Austria itself or in Europe, in general, on its ideas you can see tourists literally from around the world, from distant Japan and America. By the way, many of our compatriots who are avid theatrons or just lovers are dreaming of a performance.
Believe that the wonderful building of the opera in Vienna appeared at all accidentally, because in this city they lived and created their wonderful works of such greatest composers as Mozart, Beethoven, Gaidn, Schubert, Gluck, Brahms, as well as a magnificent Strauss. Therefore, such a wonderful city could not do without his own opera theater and he appeared in 1869.
The very first performance that was put on the scene of the Vienna opera was "Don Juan" Mozart. Already at that moment, all experts recognized that the building is one of the best in the world in both the interior and acoustics. But nevertheless, he absolutely did not like the ruling Emperor Franz Joseph. Such unfinished review led to the suicide of the creator of interiors in Opera Edward Van der Nyulla, and the leading architect Augustus Sikcard von Sikcardsburg slightly with heart attack.
But still, and now, with complete confidence, it can be argued that the building of the Vienna Opera is truly great. Unfortunately, during the bombing during the Second World War, it was almost completely destroyed, but still it was able to restore it on the preserved drawings. So in May 1955, the Vienna Opera again opened with the formulation of the magnificent opera Beethoven "Fidelio".
For many years of existence on the stage of the Vienna Opera, a huge number of works of various composers were delivered, there were many prime ministers of the newest operas who later became the masterpieces of musical culture. Nowadays, most of the repertoire of the theater is performed by a full-time artistic composition, but it is not rarely invited to touring world stars here. From May to October, concerts and outdoors are held on the square in front of the opera, and completely free.
In the Vienna Opera, there are usually performances of three categories - for an inexperienced public, easy performances with the cheapest tickets (Category C), the works of the main repertoire, which are performed by the standard orchestra (Category B) and performances with the stars of the opera scene (category A). The cost of tickets from the category to the category increases by an order. If you decide to go to the premiere or special events, then consider the prices will be just translated.
Opera libretto is broadcast on a special screen on the back in front of the standing armchair in English, German and French. For those tourists who are not very interested in opera performances, but they would like to inspect the building itself, excursions are held daily at two in the afternoon. Tickets for them can be purchased for fifteen minutes before the start.
