Traveling to Lesbos Island (Greece, Mitilini).

Anonim

Lesbos is the third largest island of Greece. I have a close girlfriend there and has invited for many years to come to visit her. In June of this year, I flew by plane from Athens to Mitilini, the island capital, located in the northeastern part of the Aegean Sea. The island with a population of about a hundred thousand, for the summer season, attend about the same number of tourists.

Most visits, stopping in the capital only for a couple of days, go further on the island see the cities of Sigri with a museum of petrified forest, Eressos, molyvos. These are tourist places where lovers of thermal sources and slow, measured recreation come from year to year. There are no fuss and muckings, many solar half-empty beaches and the circle of sea, because we are on the island.

Come in the main groups, for several days or week. Local Greeks, too visit the nearby Turkish resorts of Aivalik, Izmir, Pamuk Kale.

There are several museums in the capital - historical, artistic, Sappo poeses, in the summer there are various exhibitions. Together with the friend's friend, we went to country beaches, but I would like to tell me separately about the central beach Tzamakia-comfortable and comfortable.

There is a beach in the very center of the city, you can get to it on foot or by a bus. The entrance is one euro for the whole day. The beach is big and comfortable, there are always free clamshells and umbrellas, there is a cafe, bar, souls, children's and sports grounds. It is from the beach that the Turkish shores, passenger port and tourist ships in standing water area are clearly visible.

Evening Lesbos is a string of taverns and bars on the coast, a light sea breeze and the smell of food cooked on coals. Kitchen here Mediterranean, dishes from fresh local vegetables, fish and seafood. For dessert, you will definitely coax a sweet or wineglass of local uro-anise alcohol, which locals produce here on the island.

Undoubtedly, Lesbos has unique charm. People visiting the island once, come again and again to see the crimson sunny sunset over the sea and sit over a cup of coffee discussing news with friends by the Aboriginal.

I liked the island, I will definitely return there again.
