The manor of Polenovo, which is located in a very picturesque place in the Tula region on the shore of the beauty of the Okey River, was completely built on the project of the Great Russian artist Vasily Polenov. And not only actually all the buildings in the estate, but even the Trinity Church in the village of Boehovo was also built by his designs.
The artist of the Polenov was a big worker and all the trees in the park and all flower beds near the house and around the buildings were planted with his direct participation. It is very pleasant to realize that almost all the buildings in Polenovo are well preserved to the present day. And when you come here and go to the museum, it creates the impression that the owner will come out and will personally meet expensive guests. We also need to note that today the director of this museum is none other than the great artist Natalia Polenova.
Once the artist of Polenov sailed on a steamer and this place he liked that he decided his own museum. The construction began in 1892, and already in 1903 the very first excursions appeared here - students of the craft school from Serpukhov. After that, the estate almost never empty - the exhibitions were arranged here, artists and other creative people were located.
The complex of the estate of Polenovo includes several buildings at once, but the main among them is considered to be a big house, admiralty, abbey and city of masters. In a large house, all numerous collections collected by different generations of the artist's family were saved. Also here are the personal belongings of Vasily Polenov.
Visitors inspect a large library, workshop, office, dining room and landscape room. By the workshop, thanks to her unusual architecture, the artist called Abbey. To date, there are often performing performances and carry out musical evenings.
Well, in a house called Admiralty, earlier stored tackle and boats. Now there are exhibitions and shows in this building, and Dorama is also demonstrated - the unique work of the artist. The city of Masters is called a new large building, in which the exhibition hall is located, art studios and workshops. Nowadays, conferences, performances and balls are held here.
You can get to the museum both by public transport and on your own car. First by train "Moscow-Tula" get to the station Trootskaya. Well, then on the minibus to get to the velegozh, which goes through the village of Starahovo, or to the village of Lanshino. It is necessary to go out at the stop of the "Strahovo village", and then walk about one kilometer in the direction of movement.
