What do we usually imagine when we think about italy? European "cozy" architecture, warm "male" sea, beautiful "well-groomed" people around, prices in euro, Italian, pizza and ice cream.
From my experience, I will say that, everything is so, and even better, since you need to add a beautiful nature, mountains and unforgettable views. Already, when I was driving from Milan's airport, I was surprised how the picture outside the window was changing at the entrance to Genoa. I wanted to shoot all this magnificence on video to remember and share this beauty with others that I did. These villages on the background of mountains as screensavers on the phone screen.
The weather in Italy is pleasant, the sea breeze facilitates heat, walking in narrow streets, you can hide from the scorching sun. Genoa is that "dear" Italy with streets, width in two people, numerous chuts, in which it is always cool, majestically, where you can sit, relax and enjoy the frescoes and sculptures of Italian masters. If you want, as I, a lot of walking around the city, then get ready for steep climbs and descents, since the whole city is built on mountainous terrain. Of the minuses, I will say that good beaches with sun beds and sun loungers are paid and notable. There are public free beaches, but there are always a lot of people in the season, it will have to lie on a large pebble and put on swimsuit / smelting better in advance, as I rarely find the locker rooms. Because of the pebbles, the stones entrance to the water is painful and not very pleasant, but when you swim in clean, warmth, you forget about all inconveniences.
For quick movement, I recommend to take a moped - this is the most common transport in Genoa. Then you can climb the mountains and see the Italian resort in all its glory.
Pebbles, public beaches are not a problem for me, for me the greatest discomfort caused only the fact that in the central area in all narrow alleys connecting the shopping streets, they are not "night", but "daytime butterflies."
In general, I can say that I travel a lot, but Italy has its own special charm, a flavor, not comparable to any country. An interesting feature is that the Italians love their language so much that they do not want to learn any other, in English only a small part of young people speak English.
This sea resort is great for independent travelers who can after Genoa, for example, to visit such major cities like Turin, Milan.
