In May last year, we decided to spend the Maevka with a guy somewhere, but on the famous Polish seaside resort - in Gdansk. The fact is that Maevka 2016 we noted above the sea in Odessa, and the guy who by nationality Pole was in a pleasant shock that in early May it is already possible to swim and sunbathe. He wanted to repeat success this time in the Polish resort. Who knew that this holiday on the sea would be the most cold for us in the whole story!
In Gdansk, we arrived on May 1st in the morning from warm Warsaw, and the first thing that was noted is amazing cool weather. In the summer, all the Poles come to this resort to be sought on the shore of the Baltic Sea, plenty of buying and enjoy the sun. But either May is still too early, whether we are simply not lucky, but the first day here still went to jackets and boots. The reason for this is a cold and very strong wind that walked from the sea.
A guy with a guy in advance from 1 to 4 May the room in an apartment from private owners, the owners said that the wind often interfere with resting up until July. I mentally again conducted a comparison of Gdansk with the popular resorts of Ukraine and again did not understand how the Poles are so home to the Baltic Sea, if it is so cold here.
The recreation program had to be seriously changed, and instead of the beach, we took up the excursion point. We walked around the city all day, enjoying it with antique streets, visiting numerous museums and periodically go to various cafes to warm up.
As a result, I was even glad that it did not work with the sea, because Gdansk was an amazingly beautiful and interesting place. It turned out that in this city there is a fascinating museum of the history of the Polish Group Solidarity, which struggled for the rights of the people in Soviet times, and numerous local cathedrals and temples are simply amazed by their beauty.
The Embankment of Gdansky deserves a separate praise - here you can see old vessels, get acquainted with Scandinavian and German architecture, and just walk in the romantic atmosphere.
In general, I really liked Gdansk. But I still do not turn the language by the Marine Resort Center of Poland.
