The very first Association with Rio de Janeiro is undoubtedly carnival. The city is literally created for feathers, beauties in light skirts and an incendiary samba. But we arrived almost two months before the start of the carnival, in December, when in excellent Rio relatively little tourists and you can see the city without festive brilliance.
What does he impress? This is a very frivolous city, it seems that it consists entirely of the beach, the ocean is felt even where it is not visible. My husband and I lived on the embankment, in the area of the beach of Ipanoma, and most of the time were spent by the ocean.
Of course, the first thing we wanted to go through the place where the great combinator was so sought for this - according to the famous Copakaban. It is not only a beach, but also a concert area and one of the busiest parts of the city. Beautiful, practically nothing covered ladies, loud (but completely unobtrusive) merchants, bright sun - all this creates a feeling of holiday and eternal youth.
Promenade was laid along the entire beach part of the city, but there would be a poor outstanding disappointment - in the beautiful Rio white pants no longer in fashion, they gave way to thong.
It seems to me the best time for swimming here is a night. First, it is so hot in the day, and the ocean is not refreshing a strongly warm, but in the second, at night it will not be seen that the water is not too clean. In the evening, a small shops with a variety of goods are opening along the promenade, but you have to be attentive - our friend from the backpack, the wallet was virtuously pulled out - apparently, someone seemed good souvenir.
More calm, but also a very beautiful part of the city - parks. Here pure, well-maintained and much cooler.
Rio was only part of our trip to Brazil, we arrived here by car. Interestingly, despite the traffic jams, the movement in the city is quite friendly. We were not cut, I missed, I have never seen a single conflict. The husband of philosophically explained this abundance of the sun and delicious food.
Hotels are more expensive than European, and the service is worse. It was surprised that almost everywhere in Brazil in 4 and 5 star hotels could only be used by one gadget at the same time.
But the bad Internet did not spoil the impressions of the rest, and we plan to repeat our journey.
