Christmas trip to Yaremche

My first acquaintance with the Carpathians took place in 2009. It was a Christmas trip to Yaremche. The group was excited by private gardens, who were distributed who would eat and assigned a gathering place for excursions. On the eve of Christmas in the city there was frosty weather, mountains and dead men "put on" festive snowy outfits, the river Prut partially covered with ice.

Yaremche city is small and neat. Where do not look - everywhere shouted mountains. Walking through the streets (surprised the fact that the thermometer showed -15, but was not cold) we came to the souvenir market, located near the river. All shelves were taken off with snow-white toy sheep, rue to socks, hulls, embroidery and wooden crafts.

They stood on the bridge - loved by unusual round ice floes flooded in the non-freezing middle of the river Prut. They tried to go to Kolybu, but there was no place, the guard did not even let the threshold. On the Christmas Eve, all products disappeared from the stores. On the evening of January 6, it was not possible to buy even bread. The streets were empty, all locals went home to the houses and drink the Uzbar. Acquaintance with local Christmas rites limited to carols and crop ritual. Carols for tourists performed the owners of the Sadyba themselves.

One of the excursions was devoted to the inspection of a local private zoo. In large open enclosures contain representatives of the Carpathian fauna. The children were simply delighted with hand deer and kabanchikov.
