A small town in Ukraine in Donetsk region is my small homeland. There was born, studied, got married, gave birth to children. After our family moved to her husband's homeland, in the Krasnodar region. But every year 2-3 times was in their hometown, located 60 km from Svyatogorsk (previously - Slavyanogorsk). Therefore, at any time of the year, this resort city was attended, in which there are interesting historical places.
In the summer they enjoyed bathing on the lake bath, in the Seversky Donets River, walks in pine forests, among which Svyatogorsk is located. At the end of the summer and the fall was the collection of mushrooms, and in the winter they went on skis, saw the moose and roe in the snowy forest.
In July 2017, after a 4-year break, decided to relax in Svyatogorsk. The city has changed, has become more comfortable for vacationers. There are many hotels, boarding houses, recreation centers, cafes and restaurants that meet modern standards. Climatic sanatoriums still work.
Since we arrived already with grandchildren 2 and 12 years old, then chose a small peaceful hotel Floresta. I liked it that it was located on the territory of the Pine Forest Reserve "Holy Mountains" and consists of only three cottages, there is a swimming pool, and children under 16 are settled for free. Luxury luxury rooms for 2 adults and 2 children, per day 950 hryvnia. In general, it is easy to choose housing on any pocket here, from the private sector to the European level.
By the way, the Ukrainian Switzerland called these places Anton Chekhov ... Time we spent in walks on the sunny with a sandy soil of a pine forest, because it is so useful to breathe clean air, drinking smells of needles, resins, colors, bathed more often in the pool and in Lake Bath. The river is pretty cool water and a rapid flow. Due to children feared rivers.
They were embarrassed by local vegetables and fruits, which are cheap enough in the bazaar.
Attractions here are a lot. Main and my favorite - Holy Assumption Lavra, which has a story since the 16th century. Initially, it was a temple cut down in a chalk mountain, which was preserved to the present, there are excursions. I recommend to visit the laurently with the excursion, learn a lot of what you can not read anywhere. There is a valid male monastery.
In addition to the laurels, we visited the bottomless lake, located in the oak grove and the saints considered, six hundredth oak with the trunk diameter of two meters, and the monument to Artem, which is on top of one of the mountains, the serpentine road leads to it.
The weather favored our holiday was warm or hot, from 10 days spent the rain only once. Very well slept after long forest walks and bathing. All tanned, got rid of new impressions.
The most important thing is that the people are worried about the events in Ukraine - I can say that everything was calm, we did not hear any hostilities anywhere, and the locals argue that this all went around Svyatogorsk side.
