Cities on the Volga amazed with their originality. Uglich is a peaceful place where everything is done for tourists. Along the river there is a long embankment with a beautiful fence. Ships traveling along the Volga. Does not spoil the view of the opening river hydroelectric station. By car you can drive to the gateway, where you can see how water rises and lowers along with dry cargo and liners with passengers on board. Near the pier is a boat station. Completely for an acceptable price can be rolled by plastic junior boat. When riding it is impossible to swim into the place where passenger liners unfold.
There are many churches in the city. In the center of the city, the place of random death, and may even be the murders of the young son of Ivan Grozny - Dmitry. Numerous excursion groups attend the death of the heir's death. The city has the Central Museum of History of Hydropower Russia.
Honestly, I didn't really like the museum, because there were a lot of young children on the excursions. In general, the museum is focused on schoolchildren, but it is still worth a visit. If you drive from the coal through the hydroelectric station to the other side of the Volga and move further, then you can find a completely decent sandy beach on the Korozhechensky River.
In Uglich, fell off in two hotels, which found on one of the "discount" sites. The first hotel was called "Fleur". There were two nights there. The mini-hotel is quite decent. Breakfast is provided. In the room everything is clean and neat, only there is no TV, which was uncritically for us. There is a mini-hotel not in the center, but you can walk to all attractions. The second hotel was "Assumption". She did not follow in comparison with the first hotel. In the economy room, the finish though renewed, but there is some reinforcing smell. In the bathroom tile old. Apparently this building is a hundred or more years. In general, I do not recommend this hotel, despite the fact that it is located right on the central square. By the way, at the Uspenskaya Hotel, a completely decent restaurant. On weekdays there are business lunches, prices are quite budget.
I strongly recommend as a delicacy from the tourist town to bring Uglich cheese. In general, 2-3 days for the coal is quite enough. Next, you can already make excursion "bars" in neighboring cities.
