We arrived in Koktebel with the intention to visit the "Edge of Blue Hills" (it translates from the Crimean Tatar name of the area), a favorite place of rest of the Russian intelligentsia of the beginning of the last century.
The hotel has chosen the corresponding - the house of writers, 100 meters from the embankment. No Claims - Light, Spacious room, timely cleaning, delicious breakfast, refined area.
The only negative is the room on the first floor, which leaves the windows right on the art cafe, so in the evenings was quite noisy.
However, the resort itself disappointed us. The main embankment is in disrepair, everywhere a broken tile, destroyed fences and balustrades.
Part of the embankment is closed for visiting due to the real danger to fall into the gaping holes.
The garbage here seems to be removed from the case towards the case, therefore, in general, quite dirty.
In the middle of the main beach there is a flow of urban sewage, the color and smell there are appropriate. By ignorance, the dayting on the first day nearby, we all families (2 adults and a child of 7 years) received a rotavirus infection. In the future, we went to swim on the most distant tip of the embankment, almost under the most extinct Vulcan Karadag, there is much cleaner.
It can be noted quite good canteens, clean, with a good choice of dishes and moderate prices. There is a market with vegetables, fruits, local dairy products, and minor shops, incl. With toys, books, stationery.
Local entertainment is a small amusement park for children, a pier with walking yachts, tires, cafes, dolphinarium. From the marine - traditional riding on "banana" and "cheeseushki", rolled catamarans, surfing station with training.
Adherents of active recreation I advise you to walk in the very famous hills, incl. At the grave of Maximillian Voloshin. From there, beautiful views of the sea and mountains open.
You can also use the bus or taxi and visit the nearby cities and towns: Feodosia, Sudak, spa.
According to local residents, the town of Koktebel and the bays surrounding it will be significantly reconstructed, but while I put the resort a firm troika because of the widespread ruin and dirt.
