The past in the summer of the "Four Scandinavian capitals" visited Helsinki. Of all the attractions of this city, the Church of Tempelokkio surprised me. She is located in the temil area
(city center), not far from the train station.
Fredrikinkata Street, its northern part, directly displays to the entrance to the temple.
When our group approached this object, I did not immediately realize that this church is something squat like a bunker or a strange, non-zeepy mausoleum. In general, externally, this building did not impress any impression and did not associate in any way with the current Lutheran temple.
But the inner view and registration of Tempelukkio shocked me.
Filed in a rock, the church carries the spirit of cave, pristine and the sacrament.
Rough, rock, granite, uneven, almost untreated walls. Over the walls - the arch of windows, there are a lot of them, they are located on the spiral plates, and many daylight penetrates into the temple. Copper dome completes the design of the room. Concreted cold floor, lack of picturesque images, bas-relief, scarce color give the room asceticism, peace.
From the balcony of the 2nd floor it is possible to view the hall of the temple.
In my opinion, Finnish architects Timo and Tuomo Somomalysts - the authors of the Tempelokkio, managed to achieve the main thing - the security and concentration of people on their innermost in these walls.
Rows of wooden with pink benches are located in the form of a peculiar amphitheater. The body is striking, naturally inscribed in the interior, crucifix, font.
There is a similar room with a concert hall, beautiful acoustics.
At the entrance, where tickets for a tour of the temple are sold, an information board is hanging with the schedule of events and concerts held in Tompsukki.
I would like to listen to classical or modern rock music in this unique building!
