Kuressaare is an Estonian city, which is located on the largest island of the country - Saaramaa. The city is on the banks of the Gulf of Riga. There we traveled on an airplane from the capital of the country, but we can get there and ferry. Kuressar is located in the south of the country, so the beach season in the city opens with the arrival of the calendar summer - June 1, and ends with the last day of August. We rested there in mid-June. We have not experienced special heat, rather was just warm, comfortable weather without rains.
Due to the fact that the beach is located along the bay, water in it warms up much faster than in other parts of Estonia. We liked the beach in Kureaare itself .. Usually on the beach was quite quiet and calmly, despite the fact that in the city, in my opinion, there were plenty of tourists. The beach is equipped with desired amenities - cabins for dressing, toilets. What is important - you can absolutely free on the beach. By the way, despite this, the beach looks very well-groomed, it is impossible to call him wild. Rescuers work on the beach, so for their safety we were calm. For children, a playground was built, with different interesting lazalts, swings. For holidaymakers, older has playgrounds, as well as sports shells.
We settled in one of the city's sanatoriums, despite the fact that the city itself is small, there is a fairly wide selection of hotels in it and we were from what to choose. Prices absolutely correspond to the quality of housing and its maintenance.
There was no day in Kureaare so that we did not know how to take ourselves, there is always where to go what to see. Nicely surprised the nightclub, an incendiary disco and a large assortment of a cocktail did not leave us indifferent.
If we talk about the cultural program, then a lot of impressions brought a visit to the Episcopian Castle. We looked at it as outside, and inside, however, the entrance to the castle itself is paid, but not expensive - about 5-6 euros.
In general, I liked the rest in Kuressar. Everywhere friendly and hospitable people, both personnel and locals. We have not experienced any trouble. This Southern Estonian city will have to do with everyone!
