Yes, I admit, very many canals with white sand and blue water. But at the temperature of the water - it is rather hot milk. The sea, as such, you will not meet. All Water Dubai is a channel system. Water in the canals is comfortable only from October to April.
Alcohol for sale in malls and shops is prohibited. It can be bought exclusively in restaurants and hotels. Accordingly, he is very expensive. Tip for visits is to stock up with spirits in Duty Free. Keep in mind that you can carry no more than 2l per person. Distinguishing alcoholic beverages in public places is prohibited. Garbage throwing past urns is prohibited. All this can entail arrest. In general, I advise you to get acquainted with the prohibitions in this country. Everything is very serious and without hurry for tourists.
From the excursions chose a tour - safari on jeeps in the desert. Tour was paid in the hotel's lobby. Impressions were mass and not describe them. I advise you to try. Did not have time to visit the Ferrari Museum. I think still ahead. In Dubai, they visited an aquarium with fish and sharks. Bought tickets to the boat to swim in the aquarium. The undertaking itself did not justify. The idea was that you float in a boat with a transparent bottom. The bottom turned out to be long and muddy. The means did not justify themselves.
Shopping in the UAE - chic. The only thing is not the lowest prices. But there is an outlet mall and when planning a trip - you can read about all the nuances and be fulfillment. The entire zone in Dubai is considered to be free. But in fact, the prices turned out to be ordinary and not different from ordinary stores in European cities. Local "Aborigines" explained to us that we need to come for purchases from January 1 to February 1 or from July 1 to September 1.
