Genoa is the large city of North of Italy and, probably, its main port. The essential advantages of self-journey to Genoa is its convenient location relative to the rest of Italian cities. We flew to Milan, having stayed there and watching your favorite towns (center, Duomo, and a Buffet Xier restaurant, not far from Central Station Milano Centrale), we went by train to Genoa. On TRENITALIA website - there you can see the train schedule, and purchase them online (what we have done in advance, as there are a lot of shares on the site, you can grab an inexpensive ticket). From the Central Station, Milan to Genoa to go 1.5 hours by train of InterSiti, worth 20.5 euros - very comfortable and fast travel. Hotels in Genoa are quite democratic (for two 70 euros, good, with breakfast), but I noticed the peculiarity that buying them on the Booking website - it turns out more than to take on the spot.
Weather with the weather this time was not very lucky, there were toruffs and cool, but this is not a feature of Genoa, but the general picture in Europe for May 2016. Pluses of staying in Genoa This is really a delicious Italian food and a convenient location - 1.5 hours from Milan (if you are interested in shopping), 30 km from Portofino (resort town in which many of my friends are in love), 2.5. An hour before San Remo, and 2 hours on the same train station to Ventitia, the cost of 13-20 euros, depending on the time of departure. Ventimiglia is a small village on the very border with France, in which I am in love and where you can get to Monaco or Nice for, approximately 5 euros on the train cat d'Azur. And also there is a delicious pizza and ice cream. After Naples, this is the most delicious pizza, which I ate.
