We rested in Bentota in April 2016, the tour was ordered in advance, the hotel "Surf Hotel" with nutrition "All Inclusive". I liked the hotel not particularly, on "4", but the resort is perfectly. If you want to relax, then the Bentota is that place.
The town is small, you can say - the village. Located in a very picturesque area: on one side of the ocean, on the other - the river. Many hotels, restaurants, shops and shopping beds are a small market and a shopping center, there is even a railway station. ATMs have not seen, but they may have been poorly watched, the bank was seen in the center of the city. In terms of purity, it is not perfect, there are places with a bunch of building and other garbage. Locals are quite friendly and not too assertive.
Beach
Magnificent, wide and, most importantly, a worldly with golden sand and palm trees. In the ocean, they did not risk working in the ocean, there were big waves, but they splashhed near the coast - the water is amazing, crystal clear. Be sure to come to the beach. View sunset over the ocean. Very romantic, relaxes and soothes.
Entertainment
For Extreme Lovers There is a water sports center here, where a wide range of water entertainment is offered: water skiing, windsurfing, a hydrochlorism and much more. Lovers of the ancient ruins and temples also have something to see. There are Ayurvedic centers. The hotel offers an individual tour in its preferences.
Excursions and prices
For 7 days we visited:
Kandy Vihara Temple, where there is a huge statue of Buddha, 300 rupees for donation. It is better to come in the morning and do not forget to remove shoes and cover the bare shoulders.
The turtle farm in Krygost, where newborn turtles in the ocean released for a symbolic fee, children, I would be delighted, 500 rupees per person.
Garden Briff Garden, a magnificent eco-park with a small lake and many statues (among which there is an erotic nature). Not particularly impressed, especially for the money, 1000 rupees per person
Ride on elephants, I will say honestly, it was scary, 2000 rupees per person.
Water paths of the Bentota Ganga River, they saw all the wealth of fauna and wildlife flora, 6,000 rupees (here the more group, the less expenses)
Tip:
There are very narrow roads in a bent and there are no pedestrian walkways, therefore, the ideal way to move around the terrain "Tuk-Tuk". Pretty inexpensive, 150 -200 rupees (do not agree for a big amount) and slowly slowly, so that everything is well considered.
Travel everywhere, in the market, in the store, when ordering excursions, hiring Tuk-Tuk.
