We drove to rest with a three-year-old child, so noisy Aya NAPU decided to change to a quiet family protaras. In general, I am pleased with Protaras as a good resort, but there is one minus. It is located in the southeastern part of the island, while all attractions are in the west of the island. Unfortunately, when booking the hotel, we did not take into account this. If you are the fifth time in Cyprus, or if you are ready all days just fall on the beach, then this is the most it is, and if the amateur ride on various interests, it is better to live in the south, but in the central part of the island.
Unlike Aya Napa, where on every corner is noisy and afternoon, and at night, in Protaras, a quiet family and calm rest. On the beaches there are always free sun beds and umbrellas. People do not crowp and do not lie straight each other as in Soviet times in Yalta. Almost every beach has a shower. And the evening family walks along the embankment do not replace anything. She is beautiful! And if you still remember that several decades there were nothing except for the thickets, then you admire that the beauty is still possible to create. For convenience, a pedestrian walkway on the embankment is made of wooden boards. Always pure and well-groomed. And also very convenient for strollers with young children. We went to walk along the embankment every evening, go to dine in various cafes. I tried a lot of ice cream, but the most tasty on the embankment from the Russian seller.
Flight buses for 1 euro, in the same Aya NAPU and other resorts. But I still recommend to take a car rental and ride myself. The car is given without problems, only there were rights, even the passport is not taken in a deposit. The only inconvenience that you take a car with an empty tank and must be returned with empty. In our hotel, a married couple, throwing out almost all gasoline, decided that they would be enough to get to the car rental point. Not enough. Thanks to local residents who do not even want to take money for their help.
In the shops near the hotel, everything is naturally expensive, but also there is a supermarket, in which everything is exactly three times cheaper. We went to it once, when they took a car for rent, and purchased different snakes for a whole week.
Would I return to Protaras? Probably not, because I do not like to sit still, I need a movement. But I would be happy to advise this resort to older couples, couples with children and those who love a relaxing rest without fuss.
