Poltava is my love at first sight, despite the fact that I love an old European architecture more. This regional city is not very big, but cozy and well-groomed. I myself live in Ukraine and saw many cities, but Poltava is perhaps the cleanest of all. Many call Poltava by the city of students, and this is true. There are a lot of educational institutions, including international, and young people make the city alive and cheerful.
At first we went to the central square of Poltava, where the column with an eagle rises. Poltava residents and tourists love to appoint a meeting of "Eagle", because it's difficult to get lost there. On this area there are cafes, and in the summer there are various shows and discos.
But my best admiration caused a white gazebo and its surroundings. It is located on the hill and it turns out that it serves as an observation platform. In October, there was a golden autumn, and Poltava from a bird's eye view, all in yellow was very beautiful. Not far from the White Arbor, if you go to the side of the center, there are several white churches with golden domes, museums and a monument to Poltava Galushka, near which constantly many people take a picture. Well, according to tradition, all Poltava weddings certainly come to this place.
I dreamed of visiting the Museum of the Poltava battle, which is located on the outskirts of the city, but did not work out. It works not every day, and better know his schedule in advance, as it is far away.
Of course, I heard that Poltava is famous for dumplings. But I thought that I was not surprised at all with this dish, as my mother and grandmother prepare him very tasty. Having visited the restaurant in Poltava and choosing dumplings in the menu with cherry, I was very pleasantly surprised! It is actually yummy! It is a pity that other species did not work out - they just would not fit into me.
Well, I can not praise local beer. It is not "promoted" and is not sold in other areas of Ukraine for some reason. I brought home several species and we tasted with friends and wondered how pleasantly it was different from famous brands.
Poltava I really liked not only by beauty, but also a special atmosphere carelessness and cheerfulness.
